Mark Sanchez is now on the rebound following surgery on his right shoulder. He’s expected to be released by the New York Jets this offseason and he’ll likely start a new chapter next season with a different team. As odd as it seems, I believe the shoulder surgery was the best thing to ever happen to him. There was no doubt in my mind that if took the field this year, that he was going to run the Jets right into the ground. In doing so, he would have screwed himself out of an opportunity to compete for another starting job in 2014. Now, he has somewhat of a clean slate to work with (assuming he is released).
But getting back to his shoulder surgery, the Sanchize recently took to Instagram to post this video. Some might call it bizarre:
Those are some wiley eyes from the QB. Furthermore, posting a stitch removal video is just weird in itself. But I guess he has a lot of time on his hands these days.
Given the way that Geno Smith has played for the Jets so far in 2013, I see no reason why New York would want to bring Sanchez back. They don’t owe him another dime of guaranteed money and the team is finally free of the quarterback controversy that’s haunted it over the last two years. The Sanchize also deserves one more shot at a starting gig with a new team.
