Regardless of your feelings on ESPN, I think most of us can agree that they make some great commercials. ESPN original commercials are usually instant classics and they rarely make a bad one. That’s especially true of the NBA on ESPN commercials. These spots typically feature the crew from the network’s NBA coverage, mixed in with a star player or two. For the latest installment, Joakim Noah jumped aboard the famous RV:
Noah in bed with Bill Simmons and Jeff Van Gundy is a slightly terrifying concept, but as always, they hit a home run. Just when you were wondering how it would end, out pops Van Gundy in typical fashion…
As far as basketball is concerned, Noah figures to have his best season yet in 2013-14. He’s proven to be a very solid NBA big man who can rebound and score. His only problem has been staying on the court. The Chicago Bulls will need him to be at full strength all season if they expect to make a run at the Eastern Conference title next spring.
As far as Simmons is concerned, he’s still living out his dream as the sports guy. ESPN turned its Countdown show over to him, but it didn’t come without some controversy. Rumors hit the internet that Simmons played a part in Magic Johnson‘s exit from the network. Simmons shot down the rumors and says he plans to have Magic on his podcast.
I’m sure Countdown will still be a good show without Magic, but we all know that it was always be the B-show as long as Inside the NBA is on TNT.
