20 Celebrities You Wouldn’t Believe Used to be Cheerleaders

The Official Page of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Facebook

Ever since the first documented cheerleaders took their spot on the sidelines at a Princeton football game in the 1880s the place and importance of these supporters has taken on an unprecedented role for a non-participating member of a sporting team.

The role of cheerleaders has always been to get the crowd riled up, and throughout time this inevitable link to the game has made a pair of pom poms as commonly associated with a football game as anything happening off the field. For as long as most people can remember there have been cheerleaders on the sidelines of football games, whether that means pop warner, middle school, high school, college or even pro football. In fact, it would be nearly impossible to envision a game of football that does not have cheerleaders present on the sidelines.

The result of this immense popularity of cheerleaders is that inevitably there have been a number of people that are high ranking in American popular culture who have been a cheerleader at some point in their lives. After all a link specifically between musicians who rely on dancing in their shows could obviously find a link between the flips and dancing that is required of any cheerleader throughout the nation.

As surprising as it may seem, though, there have also been a number of celebrities who one would think have no inkling of talent in contorting their body into weird positions or doing incredible flips throughout the air.

With this in mind we take a look at the 20 celebrities who you wouldn't believe used to be cheerleaders before they gained national stardom.

Enjoy!

Mike Douglas a cheerleader? His dad would have kicked his ass for that!

    • Tyler Leli

I guess that Kirk must have let it go because Michael was a cheerleader. I hope that you enjoyed the slidehow and thank you for reading.

      • IRAMOE

What side show? Kirk SHOULD have kicked his ass for that!!

        • Tyler Leli

Slideshow. But I will leave that up to Kirk to decide what to do with his son.

    • OrthoStice

Hey, his dad was in Spartacus. ‘Nuff said.

  • Glynn

Samuel Jackson the highest grossing actor ever? According to who? That just is not true.

  • al

  • OrthoStice

The two biggest chicken hawk Presidents in history were cheerleaders. Who knew?

    • Tyler Leli

Now, now. Lets be respectful of everyone on this list, even if you happen to disagree with the public policy of a few former cheerleaders.
      Thank you for reading though!

      Your , ‘ stu -pid ‘ is showing ‘ .

      • beowolfe

        Truth hurts, huh?

    • djbaluta

So you are a big fan of the Soviet Red Army and Al Qaeda, communism and Jihadists…nice…

      • Veritas Invictus

Actually Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood are CIA constructs-Ordo Ab Chao!

    • truthm0ng3r

      clinton and obama?

    • Tien Lee

They also wore military uniform and was in the military. Barry Goldwater should have been U.S. President; he was more Conservative. As a matter of fact all of the U.S. Presidents were in the military except for the last 2 Dems. The only uniform that Cliton wore was a band outfit (cause he fled to Canada during the Vietnam War draft) and Obamaboozle wore (Muslim) bed sheets. Personally, the two RINOs are more man than those two Dems chicken hawks!

  • Eleanor Jacobs

and not one pic of them doing any cheerleading.

  • Tinker61

WoW! I wish Sandra Bullock had cheered at my high school.

Freedy did you see Patriot’s picture? He is not in the Buffy demographic. Not saying that as a slam….

  • Roi Ko

Bush should have stayed as a cheerleader, worst thing he can do is bore you to death and not a ruined world economy.

    • 1Crusader

And now Roi Ko is auditioning his/her/its cheerleading skills promoting the Imperial Dictator President, by blaming Bush . . . STILL!

      Rah, Rah, Rah, O-Dumb-A!

    • festmatt5440

The world economy wasn ‘t ruined ‘ when G W BUSH was president ; not until the current ” Communist ” came along .

      • beowolfe

How blind will you choose to be?

      • Spanky_Buckwheat

Bull $hit. The economy went to hell in late 2007 and early 2008!! Most politicians wanted to try to ignore it, just like Hurricane Katrina. So G W. Bush was the one that started the fire, but Obama had no idea how to put it out and then hired the a$$holes that started it all to try and fixit. So, not one phucking person went to jail for ruining the lives for 10 to 15 million Americans that will never recover from what happened to their finances and their dreams of sending their children to college and/or retiring when they reached 62 or 65 due to the crisis. If the “Tea Party” had its way they would just as soon flush those 10 to 15 million Americans down the toilet because they can’t afford to donate to their campaigns, which in their eyes makes them useless and a burden on our society.
Obama thinks we have a thriving economy now and everything is fine. He can’t get it through that fat head of his that 50% of those 10 to 15 million Americans that now have a job are making 40% – 50% less money than they were before the financial crisis.
This country has engineers, industrial mechanics and corporate lawyers that are working at McDonalds and Taco Bell, but Obama says America is back to work and the country is thriving once again.
My son is 19 years old and going to school during the day and working at night to pay for it. He now has to pay $65 a month for insurance with a $6300 deductible. He should just pay the fine of $95 a year since he only has 2 years of school left.
The White House and Congress has spent more money helping other countries than it has helping America and the American citizens that pay taxes and all the salaries of the people in the White House and the Congress. There are more millionaires and multi-millionaires in Congress than anytime in history. There are a few good people in the Congress, but they do not know how to represent the American people.
Only the citizens of this country can fix the problems in the White House and the Congress. We have to vote them all out and try our best to find good people to represent us and bring integrity, instead of shame, back to Washington D.C.!!!!!

        • disqus_virDfIPv1c

Democrats took over congress during Bush’s second term.. just fyi

          • Spanky_Buckwheat

Don’t get me wrong as I am not a democrat or republican. I vote for the best person for the job and I have voted pretty equally between the two parties.
My biggest gripe with the financial crisis was that no one was held accountable and the innocent taxpayers had to foot the bill.
I will say that I have yet to meet a “Tea Party” member that I would vote for and I still do not understand why the GOP allows the “Tea Party” to continuously drag the GOP down. I really think the GOP should force the Tea Party to go out on its own or line up their cause with the typical GOP cause.
There will never be another GOP president as long as the Tea Party is riding on the GOP’s coat tail.

          • Tien Lee

Americans are stupid! If Winston Churchill or Margaret Thatcher were to run for U.S. President, Americans would turn them away in a heartbeat. At least the Brits had some sense for voting them but later kicked them out then finally regretted it. At least they had some intelligence compare to the stupid RINO/Dem voting Americans.

        • Tien Lee

So Obamboozle had not idea how to put it out? So you are admitting that he is a failure? What happended to his hope and change? How are the hope and change working for you???

          • Spanky_Buckwheat

Hell yes Obamboozle is a failure, but so is the Senate and the House!! Washington DC is a failure to this country. It has become so bad that anyone with any intelligence, integrity and a true patriot will not run for political office. If someone with these qualities should ever try to run Soros and the Koch Bothers both would be against them. The best person for a political office could not be a Dem or Rep and could only accept completely anonymous campaign contributions!!

Really?!? You think blowing a 250+ Billion SURPLUS and near DOUBLING the National Debt, as well as Destroying the Economy(750k+ JOBS LOST FOR MONTHS, giving Wall Street and the Banksters 700+ Billion no strings atached–yes that happend under Bush) isn’t “ruined?” What the hell do you call “ruined” People taking years to find a job, but the economy is not “ruined?”

Here’s the debt sitrep–”When Reagan took office, in January 1981, the national debt was $934 billion. Between January 31, 1981, and January 31, 1989, the debt rose to $2.697 trillion—a threefold increase, or $1.763 trillion. Between January 31, 1989, and January 31, 1993—the Bush I years—the national debt jumped $1.47 trillion to $4.167 trillion, up 54 percent. During the Clinton years, January 31, 1993 to January 31, 2001, debt rose another $1.55 trillion to $5.716 trillion, up 37 percent. During the Bush II years, the national debt soared, rising $4.9 trillion, or 86 percent, to $10.632 trillion. The national debt soared again during the Obama years, too. As of August, the national debt stood at $16.738 trillion, up $6.1 trillion, or 57 percent, since the president’s inauguration. Every president inherits debt, and then adds more. But of the current national debt, 63 percent predates President Obama’s arrival in the White House. Every president inherits debt and then adds more.”

Fiscal Conservatives, my ass! Con is right–Confidence men, that’s what the GOP has become. They make those museum heists over the years look like child’s play….

Your boy Bush started this shit and Obama had to deal with the collapse–Literally–of the World’s economy therby being forced to keep going into more debt. This fiscal malfeasance lies squarely on the shoulders of W and the Dick.

They are all idiots! There should have been a Constitutional Amendment added 75 years ago that required a “real” balanced budget and no mandated payroll taxes can be re-proportioned (stolen) and used for a different purpose!

They are all bad and they are all raging globalists.Reject the false “left-right paradigm” and stop being a prisoner to ideology.as bad as Obama is-and he’s bad-W was just as much a war monger and did just as much to the economy as Obama.I say the same to all leftists.

      • Laslow Olliefelde

You need to look up the definition of communism. Do you like fire departments, police, public schools, clean water, safe food, etc.? These are all communist institutions and have been around a long time.

        • festmatt5440

I knew German people who lived under Communism ‘; for a short period of time before escaping to come to the U.S. ; Believe me ; I do ‘ know what communism is . And , you ‘ ;certainly , do not have a ‘ clue ‘.

No,This is socialism, and note that NONE of them make laws.

The communists in the congress work against the people!

He was class of ’68, a year ahead of me.

So where were the pictures we were supposed to see that were going to make our jaws drop? Another lame article with a misleading headline. Typical internet drivel.

Eva Longoria needs to be deported back to Mexico. She calls herself a Chicana which is no different than a communist and a Nazi. She claims this is Mexico’s land. She does not know her history. Long before the Spaniards claimed this area the area was inhabited by Apaches, Chumash, Dinae, Hopi, Commachies and dozen of other Mexican hating nations. Mexico inherited from Spain and fought many of the different “Indian” nations to hold on to it, but could not, because well they were Mexicans, (inept). Chicanos and Chicanas know nothing about how Mexico sustains itself! The United States supports them and protects them. Otherwise Mexicans would be speaking French, Russian, Japanese or any other country who would come in and kick their ass! Ciao

    • Tony M Vejar

HEY Doc Holiday58 THEN WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR ALL THAT UNNECESSARY COMMENTS A STAR OR WHAT ?
THAT WAS NOT THE TOPIC HELLOOOOOO!!!

      • Doc Holiday58

        Hello Tony

You must be a Chicano! Listen dumb ass if Hitler’s picture were up there I would make a comment. She is as ignorant as you are. Mexico is a hell hole and you should take your ass back there to see why people leave that shithole!

Cyrus was cast as Hannah Montana when she was 14. Hard to believe she was a cheerleader for anything other than jr. high before that.

Uh, wouldn’t believe? That would be Melissa McCarthy or Jonah Hill, maybe. Does someone get paid to write this stuff?

  • Captain Scorpio

Um. Miley Cyrus was a cheerleader in the SIXTH GRADE. That would have made her, what? 11? Maybe 12? Why would no one believe that?
