There are tons of classic photos snapped each week in the world of sports. You can call them moments in time, classic shots or whatever you like. But there’s no doubt some great imagery going on at all times. When it comes to great pics from this past weekend in sports, there’s no doubt who takes home the cake. That would be Notre Dame running back Cam McDaniel.

In a moment that looks absolutely chaotic, McDaniel is as calm as could be without a helmet:

This picture is seriously a once in a lifetime moment. How he has that calm of a look on his face at such an odd time, is beyond me. If my helmet came off during battle on the gridiron, I’d have about the exact opposite look on my face. Calmness and serenity would be replaced by shock and fear.

As far as his play on the field is concerned, McDaniel is having a pretty solid 2013 season. The junior from Coppel, TX has rushed for 351 yards on 81 attempts, while finding the end zone on two occasions. The Fighting Irish are currently 5-2 on the year and have a date with a struggling Air Force team this Saturday afternoon. McDaniel will be looking to build on his best game of the year which occurred in the same game pictured above against USC. He’s yet to top the century mark in 2013, but he came close in week eight with 92 yards rushing.
