Anybody who tuned into the Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night, was treated to a one-sided beatdown. It was a game all about the Panthers getting over the .500 mark for the first time in several years and also about how bad the Bucs really are this year. By the end of the game, everyone had basically checked out. Panthers’ players were laughing on the sidelines and the announcers were marveling at fans in the crowd. But the most entertaining thing off all was the cannon at Raymond James Stadium.

For whatever reason, the cannon normally reserved for Bucs’ scores (which have been few and far between this season), kept going off randomly. So of course, it scared a few people along the way. Two of those people happened to get caught on camera.

Check out Cam Newton and Steve Mariucci as they react to the random cannon shots:

While it’s easy to laugh at these guys for their reactions, I know that I’d be right there with them. There’s just something about a loud explosion out of the blue that makes you jump. Some people aren’t wired that way, but obviously Newton and Mariucci are.

Nobody really knows where the Bucs will go from this loss. As long as Greg Schiano is still at the helm, I’m afraid this team will continue to regress. They need a change of pace in Tampa in the worst way. But they may want to continue firing off that cannon at random times, so their fans at least have some form of entertainment the rest of the way.
