The Boston Red Sox just won their third World Series of the last decade. But of all their championships, you can make a solid case that this one was the toughest to come by. After the chicken and beer letdown of 2011 and a disastrous season under Bobby Valentine in 2012, no one was really sure what to expect from the Red Sox in 2013. That is, except one fan that predicted the exact outcome of the season.
Check out what Tommy Corsi posted to his Twitter account last March just before the season was set to begin:
That’s right, Corsi predicted the World Series outcome to a tee. It would have been one thing if he just said the Sox were going to win it all, any fan can do that. But to predict their opponent and the number of games in which they’d win? That’s mighty impressive and borderline eerie. But hey, props to him.
When asked how he came up with the prediction, Corsi simpy said: “It was just a shot in the dark… The redsox have always been my favorite team and when they signed Farrell I felt good.”
As great as this is, I’m going to have to chalk it up to a shot in the dark. The odds are the Mr. Corsi doesn’t have powers that allow him to see into the future. But when you get right down to it, who cares? The Red Sox are world champs and that’s all that matter to him and the rest of the Boston fans.
