Edmonton Oilers Coach Dallas Eakins Being Heckled by Children

Dallas Eakins

How difficult is it to be an NHL coach? Just ask Edmonton Oilers head man, Dallas Eakins. The first-year coach has been widely-considered a risky hire because of his lack of experienced in the coaching ranks as he coached in the AHL for a few years prior to getting the job in 2013 for the Oilers. It’s been a rough start for the newly-acquainted coach as he looks to be coaching one of the worst teams in the league.

The Oilers’ record right now is an unhealthy 3-9-2 and last place in the Pacific Division. Ranking last in the league in goals allowed per contest and 19th in goals scored per game, it doesn’t look like the Oilers will be headed to the playoffs this season.

How bad is it for Eakins and his family? Apparently things are pretty tough up in Canada. The former NHL player from Florida is not liking how young children are treating him north of the border. Yes, I said small children are giving Eakins a tough time up north.

Check out what he had to say about the heckling he has been receiving while walking his five-year-old daughter to school in the morning:

Yeah, he seems pretty distraught about the fact that kids a tenth of his age are calling him out for apparently being a terrible coach. I don’t know enough about this guy to say these children are right or now, but I am going to go out on a limb and say Eakins needs to have thicker skin when it comes to small school children.

Yikes.
