Athletes are constantly in front of the media. This is forced upon them whether they like it or not, and some men like it more than others. Some like it a lot and more than overstay their welcome. Here are the top 15 most attention seeking athletes.

15. Dennis Rodman

He is one of the greatest defensive basketball players of all time and also one of the most outspoken and oddest characters to ever play the game. He isn't in the spotlight much anymore, but when he was at his peak his antics, weird outfits and brash personality went from entertaining to simply annoying.

14. Randy Moss

Randy Moss is the case of a guy who was probably too good at the game and didn't know how to handle himself as a prospect. As a college prospect he failed some drug tests (for weed, not anything hard) and ended up losing scholarships at Florida State and Notre Dame. His big mouth became a factor when he got to the NFL, but he was able to back up what he said. Moss often gets a bad rap for his antics, like when he fake mooned after a TD.

Bonds went from being known as one of the best power hitters of all time to one of the most frowned upon figures of all time. After the BALCO allegations, his complete ineptitude in defending himself became laughable, and his annoying personality came out full bore as time went on. "What players take doesn't matter. It's nobody else's business. The doctors should spend their time looking for cures for cancer." Way to deflect!

12. Paul Pierce

The 15th all-time scorer in NBA history, Paul Pierce has only one NBA championship to his name, but you wouldn't know that. After a career filled with personal success but a lack of team triumph, Pierce became a major trash talker when the Celtics became a championship team and said they were definitely going to repeat and they didn't. He called himself one of the top 5 players in the game, but clearly he needed Kevin Garnett for that.

In the early 2000s Manny Ramirez was known as one of the biggest crybabies in MLB. He held out to get more money before joining the Red Sox after getting a gigantic offer and sat out games claiming to be sick or injured when it was proven to not be the case. He was a great hitter but his performances were sometimes marred by his childish behavior.

The hair. The outfits. The marriage to a Spice Girl. The tattoo portraying himself as Jesus Christ on the cross (you read that right). He's better at self-promotion than he is at soccer (though he is far better than non-soccer fans understand) and you can see in his eyes and his words that his self involvement is always on full blast. And his accent isn't as sexy as most sexy British accents. Yeah, I said it.

9. Pacman Jones

Adam Jones. What a guy! Full of himself and apparently fully unable handle himself in public, Jones "made it rain" in a nightclub and then got upset when the stripper tried to take the money he threw at her. Got upset is the PG version of what happened, of course. When he found himself suspended, he launched an unsuccessful rap career and joined TNA Wrestling for a few months. He has been pretty quiet over the last few years, however.

8. Tom Brady

Tom Brady, the star of last season's "Deflategate" has been a controversial and plain annoying figure in the NFL for many years. Whether it's the prettyboy looks and the high school starting QB attitude or his inability to believe that he can make mistakes, Brady is easy to dislike. Yeah, he's a great quarterback and has the diamond rings to back it up, but dude is just abrasive.

Tito Ortiz may be the most hated UFC fighter of all time. He is known for dodging fights, whining and complaining about how and why he lost and acting like he was sent to Earth by God himself to be a savior to both women and mixed martial arts. Thankfully he was in a profession in which it was okay for people to punch him in the face. It happened plenty and many people took great enjoyment from it.

Roddick was one of the best tennis players of his time, reaching No. 1 in the world. He was also one of the best at throwing fits and temper tantrums. And his racket. I once heard that John McEnroe asked him to tone it down a notch after one of his many blowups at an umpire. Be warned, if Roddick disagrees with an experienced judge's call, that judge is definitely wrong. Oh, and his wife was in the Battleship movie.

I wonder if Owens ever did anything that wasn't intended to just get a rise out of people. He wore a Cowboys jersey while playing for the Eagles and criticized his own quarterback publicly and did a TD celebration dance on the Cowboys logo on the 50-yard line as a 49er. Owens was fined for his celebrating and caused a lot of penalty yards. It may be the No Fun League, but when his own team and coaches were against him, he should have let it go.

Remember that time he knocked the ball out of Red Sox pitcher Bronson Arroyo's glove in the 2004 ALCS? That pretty much sums up the man-child that is A-Rod. Overrated by the league and himself, Rodriguez gained fame for being Derek Jeter's friend. He was a good ballplayer but his whining and acting like a star is what made him a name. Oh, and he was one hell of a choke artist, too.

3. Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson

Until somebody told him that ochocinco was just the numbers 8 and 5 mashed together rather than the number 85, I don't believe he realized his mistake The man was cocky, brash and generally abrasive. He would have been a good but not lauded player with adequate stats had he not acted how he did, but it got him what he wanted. Johnson was also hampered by playing much of his career with the Bengals, who only made the playoffs twice with him.

2. Jose Canseco

One of the bash brothers along with Mark McGwire in the 80s, Canseco was a star power hitter. Most people these days know him as that annoying leather-skinned guy who pops up on all of the "celebrity" reality shows and talks incessantly about steroids, somehow thinking that outing the other million guys who did them absolves him of his misdeeds. He comes across as a man always out for himself and is essentially a goon.

Would you expect anybody else? Yeah, he's the greatest boxer of his generation, undefeated and backs up everything he says, but he just has no idea how to keep his mouth shut. He was a good trash talker and used it to make people want to see him fight (win or lose) and now he's just arrogant, racially insensitive, abrasive and a pest. And he had Justin Bieber as part of his entourage accompanying him for a match. Not cool, man. Not cool.
