15 Athletes You Wish Would Invite You To Their Christmas Party

Kirby Lee-USA Today Sports

It's that time of the year again. Everyone loves Christmas right? Not everyone, especially if you're a Jewish kid that grew up in the suburbs like myself. It seemed like I would always be jealous and spiteful of Christmas, that is until my father remarried a shiksa (that's what us Jews call non-Jewish women). As luck would have it, my new step mama Wendy is very big on Xmas and got the rest of us into it. I still have much love for Hanukkah, but Xmas is like my Concord grape now; it's my jam.

Many people consider Christmas to just be a mass exercise of commercialism. Which to an extent may be true, but anyone who follows the message in “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” would feel like the true spirit of Christmas is being with your loved ones. Every year we always have a great Xmas eve party in which we invite family and friends. There are several traditions we follow every year to a tee: family gift exchange, blasting the song “Shots” by Lil John and LMFAO early Xmas morning to wake everyone up (I’m not kidding) and, of course, the Xmas morning street hockey game. There is nowhere I’d rather be, but if I had to choose, I would want to go to some lavish celebrity party. And seeing as this is a sports website, we’ll go with celebrity athletes. As we all know certain athletes have lots of money and love to show it off.

The following are the 15 athletes I wish that would invite me to their Christmas party. Enjoy the show and have a happy and safe holiday.

Mike Tyson

Joe Camporeale-USA Today Sports

So maybe Mike Tyson isn't erratically crazy like he was before, but the man is still entertaining. For anyone who hasn't seen his HBO special "The Undisputed Truth," check it out when you get a chance and you'll see what I mean.

Floyd Mayweather

Jayne Kamin-Oncea

As we all know, Floyd Mayweather has a ton of money and loves to show it off. There is no doubt that this dude would go all out with a Xmas party or any party for that matter.

Terrell Suggs

Ron Chenoy-USA Today Sports

Terrell Suggs is a wild, crazy and funny dude. You know any party that this guy was at would have a lot of laughing guests.

Jacoby Jones

Evan Habeeb-USA Today Sports

A couple of things we know about Jacoby Jones. For one he's one hell of a dancer. Secondly, Jones has a certain fondness for women, the adult entertainment variety of women. Sounds like a good time to me.

Richard Sherman

Joe Nicholson-USA Today Sports

Richard Sherman likes to talk a lot and sometimes he doesn't have a filter. How great would it be for him to call out certain people who exaggerate stories or straight up lie?

7 of 16

Johnny Manziel

Peter Aiken-USA Today Sports

Johnny Manziel should be a slam dunk choice for any party list. The guy is like the athlete version of Barney Stinson. It would be Legen ... wait for it ... DARY.

Tony Romo

Tim Heitman-USA Today Sports

Tony Romo is a good combination of every thing you'd like in a party host. He's a genuinely nice guy, he's rich and he has a lot of celebrity connections. His Christmas party would probably be like one of those Hollywood red carpet deals.

Rob Gronkowski

Matthew Emmons-USA Today Sports

The ultimate "Bro," Rob Gronkowski is a party animal. Last year Gronk ripped his shirt off and was dancing like a crazy man, and this was with a broken arm. Just imagine, that was probably nothing for him.

Peyton Manning

Ron Chenoy-USA Today Sports

Peyton Manning has a great sense of humor; just take a look at his recent interview on ESPN with Ron "I'm kind of a big deal" Burgundy. Of course, my all-time favorite Manning moment had to be the United Way skit on SNL. Tell me you wouldn't want to go to a Manning party and I'd tell you you're un-American.

Derek Jeter

Greg M. Cooper-USA Today Sports

It's been well documented that Derek Jeter is a man about town. No expenses would be spared for his party guests. Just don't get caught wearing an ugly Christmas sweater to one of his parties.

12 of 16

Alex Ovechkin

Evan Habeeb-USA Today Sports

Alex Ovechkin is considered by many hockey's version of a rock star. The man has passion, energy and intensity. Ovechkin would no doubt be the life of his own Xmas party.

13 of 16

John Daly

Jake Roth-USA Today Sports

Just look at that man's pants, that should be reason enough to want to go to his Xmas party. It would also help that one of his rooms probably looks like a seedy Atlantic City casino.

Brian Wilson

Jeff Curry-USA Today Sports

Just look at this guy, you know he's a wild man. Just looking at Brian Wilson makes me think of John Belushi in Animal House yelling "TOGA TOGA."

15 of 16

Chad Johnson

Steve Mitchel-USA Today Sports

Chad Johnson is funny, can dance and is starved for attention. How could that combination of things fail at a party?

16 of 16

Tim Tebow

Andrew Weber-USA Today Sports

Tim Tebow would not be in the category of party animal or arrogant show off. This is why I put him on the list, I imagine that Tebow would want to embody the true spirit of Christmas at his party. Tebow was a fun guy in his college days too, so his party wouldn't be entirely lame either.
