10 Things You Should Know About Lolo Jones

USA
USA Today Sports

We're now just weeks away from the start of the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games. So far, a lot of the buzz surrounding the games has been negative because of the terrorist activity in Russia. Hopefully, Olympic officials get things under control before the games get underway. The last thing we'd want to see is a big attack during the actual games.

These Winter Olympics won't be as star-studded as the most recent Summer Olympics in London, but the USA still has its fair share of big name athletes making the trip to Russia. Arguably, the biggest US star is none of than Lolo Jones.

Jones is of course known for her success in track and field and unfortunately, for her failures in the Summer Olympics. As the favorite to win the 100m hurdles in the 2008 games, Jones clipped the second to last hurdle and fell all the way to 17th place. She returned to the track in 2012, but came in just behind the medal spots in fourth place.

Now, she's taking her dream of winning an Olympic medal to ice and the bobsled. Jones is currently trying to earn a spot on the US team as a brakewoman. At this point, she's not officially in the Winter games, but that announcement will come in just a few days. Frankly, I'll be shocked if she doesn't make it. But regardless if she does or not, here are 10 things you should know about one of the most popular athletes in America today. Hopefully, we can add Winter Olympic medalist to this list once the Sochi games are in the books:
