Top 25 Images From Championship Sunday and the Weekend In Sports
Top 25 Pictures From Championship Sunday and More
Championship Sunday is now in the rearview mirror, but not after a couple of great games. The weekend of January 17-19 was also jam-packed with great action from college basketball, the NBA and NHL. In this slideshow we'll take a look at the top images from the world of sports. As they say, a pictures says a thousand words. It's especially true with sports.
Of the two big games this weekend, the 49ers and Seahawks ended up being the best. Peyton Manning and the Broncos basically steam rolled the Patriots and the game was never really in question. You have to tip your cap to John Fox's team, though, because their execution on both sides of the ball made the lopsided outcome possible. It's safe to say that 2013 wasn't the Patriots' year. Given all that's happened to them with off-the-field troubles and injuries, the AFC title game wasn't a bad place for the season to end.
Many people felt that the AFC championship game should have been the main event on Sunday. Brady versus Manning is definitely worthy of the prime TV slot, but in this case, the 49ers and Seahawks put on the better show. Obviously, Seattle being in the Pacific time zone probably played a role in the start times as well. But all that aside, the main event game lived up to expectations.
Now football fans across the country will begin the slow two week countdown to Super Bowl 48. But at the same time, there will be more coverage and hype for the event than we can handle.
So without further ado, here are the top sports pictures from the weekend that was in sports:
