Worst Super Bowl Commercials 2014

The Super Bowl this year was not nearly as exciting as people once thought it would be. Yes, it's true, Super Bowl XLVIII was a dud and there's no way around that. Peyton Manning suffered with no help on offense and he finally looked like he was 37 years old for the first time in the 2013 season.

Since the Super Bowl was such a disappointment, how can anyone be so happy about the result of the game? Well, if you are a Seattle Seahawks fan, this was the best way imaginable for the game to go. On the other hand, the Denver Broncos were not so happy with the outcome and Manning wasn't happy about a reporter asking him after the game if the 43-8 result was "embarrassing".

Sure, it was hard to watch. Sure, the Seahawks proved to be the better team. Sure, Russell Wilson is one of the scariest talents in football today. And sure, the Seahawks will probably be favorites to win it all next year as well -- but how cool would a rematch be? Let's see Manning get another crack at the Seahawks.

If the Super Bowl was such a dud this year, were the commercials just as bad? Well, they weren't the best in recent memory, but they weren't all terrible. There weren't very many notable commercials that hit the airwaves during the big game and none that seriously captured people's interest.

However, every year, there are terrible commercials that always make people shake their heads and question why someone spend millions of dollars creating such mediocre garbage. That is why I have compiled a list of this year's worst commercials. In fact, here are, in my opinion, the 20 worst commercials that aired during Super Bowl XLVIII. Let me know if you disagree.

Honorable Mention: T-Mobile - "We Killed the Long-Term Contract"

There are no words for this boring, mediocre ad. At least they hit a home run with Tim Tebow.

20. Wonderful Pistachios - Steven Colbert

Ah, this year's Wonderful Pistachios commercial. Last year, Psy rocked out. This year, Steven Colbert tried too hard.

19. CarMax - "Slow Clap"

The only thing that saved this dull commercial was the appearance by Rudy -- and maybe the kid falling off his bike.

18. Doritos - "Lasso"

I get that it was a fan entry, but the lack of humor was just everywhere.

17. Subway - "Fritos Chicken Enchilada"

Nothing like having a guy who was caught smoking marijuana advertising a product that looks like it would be eaten by marijuana smokers.

16. Maserati - "Strike"

This was way too much of a build up for a car no one can afford.

15. Beats - "The Right Music"

You would think a commercial with Ellen would be a hit, but this one just fell short.

14. Ford - "Nearly Double"

Way too boring for two extremely funny actors to be in. Sorry Rob Riggle and James Franco, you were dealt a pretty bad hand on this one.

13. Chobani - "Bear"

Yes, it's funny, there's a bear who tears apart a convenience store in order to just have the honey-flavored Chobani Greek Yogurt.

12. M&Ms - "The Kidnap"

The M&M commercials leading up to the Super Bowl were almost too hyped up for this disappointing kidnapping letdown.

11. SodaStream - "Sorry, Coke and Pepsi"

Sorry, Coke and Pepsi? No, SodaStream, you are not even in the same ballpark. I doubt Coca-Cola and Pepsi are worried about your takeover in the soda business.

10. Volkswagon - "Wings"

I think this commercial could have been cut in half to make the same point, but it was somewhat salvaged by the rainbow part at the end.

9. Scientology

All scientology commercials are just really awkward and pretty creepy. Religion and sports just shouldn't be mixing.

8. Coca-Cola - "Going All the Way"

Ah, a young child trying to reach his goals and make his dreams come true, but it was almost too anticlimactic. I mean, where's Eddie Lacy or Aaron Rodgers?

7. Heinz Ketchup - "Hum"

This one could have been a little funnier at the end, but it was just an all-out bore.

6. Kia - "The Truth"

A little outdated don't you think, Kia?

A lot of people found this funny, I found it to be just plain dumb.

This was the most misleading commercial of all time.
