Hello and welcome to another jam-packed edition of the Rant Sports Podcast. Monday is in the rear-view mirror, which means it’s time to rise and shine on this Tuesday morning and get an idea of what the sports landscape looks like for February 25th, 2014:
The NFL Scouting Combine is wrapping up, so what did we learn? Well, there is a handful of wide receivers that could really be big-time NFL targets next year. You fantasy football folks must check it out.
Ah, the New York Knicks are easily the most embarrassing team in the NBA. Last night Carmelo Anthony asked himself if scoring 40 points or more a game was “worth it” and of course, the answer is no. Sorry, ‘Melo but this Knicks team is downright awful.
Jerry Jones might be senile, but he knows that the Dallas Cowboys are way over the salary cap. With that, don’t be surprised if DeMarcus Ware is shown the door. This defensive end is way past his prime, anyway.
For those of you waiting for Mark Cuban to say something dumb about Jason Collins — you’ll have to keep waiting. The Dallas Mavericks‘ owner says that playing with Collins would be “No Big Deal” Thank you, Mark, for finally making some sense.
So no more home plate collisions in Major League Baseball, huh? Talk about great news! Baseball isn’t built on catchers get steamrolled. Besides, this time next year the rule will be totally forgotten and catchers will be glad the rule was put in place.
