15 Athletes Who Should be on “Dancing With the Stars”

One of the most popular shows on Monday nights is "Dancing With The Stars". It takes celebrities and pairs them with professional dance partners, and each couple must perform a different type of dance every week. Many athletes have fared well on the show, but there are still some athletes who I believe would be great fits on the show. Here are my top 15 past and present athletes who should show off their moves on the show.

One dance style that competitors on the show must perform is the salsa. I don’t know how Cruz would be at the other dances, but given his salsa moves after each TD scored, I’m pretty sure the salsa would not give him any trouble.

Muggsy Bogues is the shortest player to ever play in the NBA. At only 5-foot-3, he amazed fans with the fact that he could dunk a basketball. Maybe he could amaze fans with his dance moves as well. He would also be one of the few guys to appear on the show who would be shorter than his partner.

13. Johnny Manziel

Whether you love Johnny football or you hate him, he is must-see TV. I don’t know how Manziel would do on the show, but I do know he would be entertaining.

12. Tim Tebow

The exact opposite personality of Johnny Manziel is Tim Tebow. Tebow might not get the highest scores from the judges, but I am confident he would do pretty well with the fan votes.

11. Derek Jeter

Derek Jeter is going to retire from baseball after the 2014 season, and with that extra time he has, he should give dancing a try. We know Jeter has done plenty of dancing in the New York night clubs, but how would he do in the ballroom?

10. Usain Bolt

Usain Bolt is the world's fastest human and one of the most charismatic athletes around. We all know Bolt has quick feet, but could he handle the quickstep?

9. Charles Barkley

I am not sure how Barkley’s dancing ability is, but it couldn’t be any worse than his golf game. No matter how he performed, he would definitely be entertaining. Plus, we might get the opportunity to hear one of the judges tell him, in their best Barkley impersonation, that his dance was “turrible”.

8. Terry Bradshaw

Bradshaw probably doesn’t have a lot of dancing ability, but he is endearing. I think he could win over the judges and fans with his personality.

Brett Favre likes the spotlight and attention, and the show would give him that. The only question is how many times would he retire and come back within one’ season?

6. Russell Wilson

Russell Wilson has been asked to be a competitor on the show on two separate occasions. He has declined because he feels his focus should be on football. I think sometime down the road, he will accept the invitation and do well on the show.

5. Richard Sherman

Some people find Richard Sherman brash and cocky, while others find him entertaining and refreshing. Richard Sherman always wants to win, and it would no different here. Plus, he would be interviewed by Erin Andrews again and we might get to hear him yell “I’m the best dancer in the ballroom!”

4. Michael Strahan

Michael Strahan has made a smooth transition from player to analyst. He is great on the Fox pregame show, and the Michael and Kelly show. I think he would be good on the dance floor as well.

3. Shaq

The image of Shaq on the show is a hilarious one. His 7-foot tall frame towering over his dance partner would make for funny TV, whether he was a good dancer or not.

This show was made for a guy like Deion, and I am surprised he has never been on it. His nickname is "Prime Time", he loves to dance and he loves the spotlight.

Peyton Manning will likely be on the show someday. I think he enjoys being a showman. He has more commercials than any other NFL player, and he has hosted SNL as well.
