Re-casting The Avengers With Athletes is Pretty Funny

The Avengers Re-Casted With Athletes

Bryce Harper Thor

With all the buzz surrounding the new Marvel movies, we decided not to just matchup Thor and Captain America for their sequel film, but to do the entire Avengers crew in anticipation for that continuation as well. A little preface: These athletes were chosen by which ones best match the attributes of each character, while looks are just a plus on a few of them. So with that in mind, please enjoy what the Avengers would look like as athletes.

Ronda Rousey: Black Widow

Ronda Rousey Black Widow

Ronda Rousey: Black Widow

Ronda Rousey Black Widow

For this one, we needed a hot athlete who can kick pretty anybody’s butt. Ronda Rousey is the fiercest female UFC competitor there is and if you haven’t seen her modeling work, you’re missing out. She’s the perfect attractive, fierce chick who everyone respects and secretly crushes over.

Matthew Stafford: Tony Stark/Iron Man

To be Tony Stark/Iron Man, one must be very smart, sarcastically funny and recklessly good at what he does. Matthew Stafford fits the bill perfectly. Add in the fact he likes to party and has been seen many times with good-looking, scantily-clad ladies and he’s the ideal athlete match for this Marvel character.

Udonis Haslem: Falcon

Udonis Haslem Falcon

No matter if you’re playing sports or fighting to save the world, you need role players to get the job done. Udonis Haslem and Falcon are team players who always do their jobs well and don’t get enough attention. What superhero team wouldn’t want Falcon and what title contender wouldn’t take Haslem?

Peyton Manning: Captain America

Peyton Manning Captain America

Unlike some of his Avengers compadres, Captain America never wanted to do anything that wasn’t honorable and he never wanted to cut corners. Peyton Manning is the same: He’s hard-working and always wants to do things the right way. Plus, he makes his teammates better by being a leader, just like the Captain. Easy match.

Alex Morgan: Pepper Potts

For this female Marvel character, we needed an attractive athlete who was also genuinely beautiful AND hot. In addition, she needed to be a quiet and caring individual who had that sexy girl-next-door feel. Who better to play Pepper Potts than Alex Morgan?

Kobe Bryant: Ultron

Kobe Bryant: Ultron

Kobe Bryant Ultron

Kobe and Ultron both have one primary thing in common: They want to make the world a better place, but they go about it in all the wrong ways. You either hate them or you love them; there’s no in between. Ultron is all of the worst parts of Tony Stark without any of the good traits and it’s safe to say Kobe is the same of Michael Jordan.

Dwyane Wade: Nick Fury

Dwyane Wade: Nick Fury

Dwyane Wade Nick Fury

These are two hard-nosed dudes who do a lot of recruiting the hard way. Nick Fury built a team of superheroes to save the world while D-Wade built one of the greatest trios in the history of the NBA…and both succeeded. Plus, Fury’s eye patch and the bandaid Wade used to wear on his face give them similarities in appearance.

Bobby Ryan: Quicksilver

This one is a perfect match; both Bobby Ryan and Quicksilver are both really fast and can be playful in an almost childlike manner. They are both superstars in their own right, but don’t get as much credit as their star counterparts.

Novak Djokovic: Phil Coulson

The Marvel character doesn’t get much love, although he’s really good at what he does and he’s very funny in a dry, sarcastic way. Novak Djokovic doesn’t get nearly enough credit for being one of the world’s best tennis players and his sense of humor often goes overlooked as well.

Tiger Woods: Hulk

Tiger Woods Hulk

Since there are two sides to this Marvel character, we needed an athlete who matched that. Bruce Banner is a genius, but his temper turns him into a monster that sometimes does what’s right and sometimes just smashes things. Tiger Woods is a brilliant human being, but his temper often gets the better of him, even though he does come through in dominant fashion every now and then.

Serena Williams: Scarlet Witch

How to match this one: Find an athlete who has anger issues, incredible powers, underrated beauty and who can be mentally manipulative. Serena Williams fits the bill of Scarlet Witch perfectly. With that attitude, power and deceitful attractiveness, it’s hard not to respect her.

Kyle Korver: Hawkeye

Kyle Korver Hawkeye

Kyle Korver: Hawkeye

Kyle Korver Hawkeye

We obviously needed a quiet, underrated sharpshooter for Hawkeye’s athlete counterpart and Kyle Korver fits the bill. The Hawks’ guard hit at least one three-pointer in a record 127 straight games. Nobody shows that level of precision when it comes to shooting except for Hawkeye.

Bryce Harper: Thor

How about a swole dude who just likes to punch his way out of everything? Thor is a ripped dude who likes to show off his strength and after becoming “as big as a house” Bryce Harper can do the same. These two bros like to get physical with their crafts and the similarities in appearance are a nice bonus to this match.

Tim Duncan: Vision

Tim Duncan Vision

Like Vision, Tim Duncan is older and mysterious; people just can’t figure him out. One thing everyone knows about both of them: They never get flustered in any situation. They are always calm, thinking everything through serenely and logically.

Ryan Braun: Loki

Ryan Braun Loki

Ryan Braun: Loki

Ryan Braun Loki

This Marvel character is a smart, sneaky, conniving villain who won’t ever admit that he’s wrong and the reason for all his problems. Ryan Braun deceived us all by making us he think he was actually an MVP-caliber player and then refused to admit he cheated, lied about it and never really accepted the fact he messed up. However, life goes on for both of them, which is whey they’re a solid match.
