You can make a solid argument for Yasiel Puig being the most immature athlete in sports today. He's already been benched in 2014 for being late and he's been the topic of a team meeting. He's ultra-talented with a bright future, but he's got a long way to go before his mental strength matches his physical strength.
But beyond Puig, who are the most immature athletes in sports today? Here are 15 of them:
You can argue that Jackson's immaturity got him booted out of Philadelphia. He says the whole ordeal was a wake up call. But I'll believe it when I see him acting more like a professional in 2014.
Even though he's a seasoned 37-year old vet, Pierzynski still acts likes he's a 21-year old with a chip on his shoulder on the diamond.
Boogie is slowly starting to mature. He's been in the NBA for four years now, but he's yet to realize his full potential. When his numbers start to really inflate and he becomes a true force, then we'll know he's got his head on straight.
No one is really sure what goes on in this guy's head. Heck, I'm not even sure Smith knows why he acts the way he does half the time.
There's a lot of love and hate when it comes to John Football. The hate is usually derived from the fact that people view him as an arrogant, immature party animal.
Cutler is a dang good quarterback. But when it comes to acting like a pro quarterback, he doesn't exactly measure up. The Bears have accepted him for who his is, and like him or not, he'll be the QB in Chicago for a long time.
Whether we're talking about alleged stompings or choppings, Suh has a terrible track record in the dirty plays department. If you think it's okay to play dirty, there's a very good chance that you're immature.
Bully McBullyton showed the world that he was big time immature in the fall of 2013. He'll probably grow up in 2014, if he actually gets another job.
If he looks, talks and acts immature, he's probably immature.
We all know Winslow is a soldier, but his actions over the years also lead me to believe that he's immature. Most recently, he was arrested for possession of synthetic marijuana in 2013, after a woman called police to report a man masturbating in his car.
There's a fine line between fiery and douchey. Papelbon has never found that line.
Anthony is a me-first guy all the way. That's one of the classic signs of athletic immaturity. Can Phil Jackson save him?
Mayweather is a great boxer, but allegedly hitting women and putting hits out on people, don't exactly qualify you as a mature individual.
If you lie and cheat, you get the immature label. Simple as that.
Rob Brokowski. When will you ever grow up? The likely answer is never. That's fine, as long as he keeps producing on Sundays.
