There was a time not too long ago when the mullet was a common American haircut. Many people in the 1980s and 1990s decided to say the heck with hair on the sides of their head and just grow it out in the back. Some of those folks were high profile athletes.
Here's a look at the top 15 mullets in sports history:
Allen is an old school football player with an old school haircut. He doesn't always rock the mullet, but when he does, it's spectacular.
Before cutting off all his hair, Agassi had the best mullet in all of tennis.
The notorious Phillies closer represented the 1980s with his mullet, well into the 1990s. That is, before he disappeared from MLB.
Of course McMahon rocked a mullet. With his attitude, he had no other choice.
Daly killed the mullet game back in the early 1990s, along with a few brain cells.
Beck is well known for being a closer for the Cubs and Giants from 91-99. But he was more well known for his trademark stache and mullet combo.
It's a shame that Kruky doesn't still rock the mullet on ESPN. Heck, they probably don't let him cut his hair that way.
There's just something magical about a football helmet covering a mullet.
Everyone's favorite hockey analyst has been rocking a mullet since...forever.
When you can ball like Larry Legend, who gives a crap what your hair looks like?
Dykstra completes the Phillies mullet trio. That team sure had a lot of hair power back in the day.
Kane goes mullet when it's playoff time. Playoff beards aren't nearly as cool.
HBK arguably had the best mullet of anyone in the 1990s. He for sure had the top one in WWE, but you can make a case for his as the GOAT.
The Great One did in fact have a great one -- mullet, that is.
Nothing says MLB steroid era like Jose Canseco and his mullet (complete with anti-sideburn look).
The Big Unit rocked one heck of a mullet for a long time. It wasn't always in 1995 form, but he rocked a mullet-ish hairdo for the majority of his career.
