The Masters Tournament is by far the biggest golf event of the year and the golfers aren’t the only ones who are under the microscope this weekend; the wives and girlfriends of the best players in the world are also at Augusta to watch…and be watched. We take a look at the hottest WAGs at the 2014 Masters.
This lovely lady is married to the 28-year-old PGA Tour veteran after the two of them met in college at Wake Forest. Dowd’s best friend set them up and said they were meant to be on their first date…and she was right!
They met in 2005, she a small-town country girl from Lucas, Ohio and he an up-and-coming golfer from Australia. He turned pro in 2006 and they went on their first date in ’07 before marrying in ’09. At his tournaments — especially majors, Ellie walks every hole with Jason, who has two PGA Tour wins and second-place finishes at the 2011 Masters and the 2011 and ’13 U.S. Opens.
This smokin’ hot professional tennis player from Denmark is very accomplished in her own right, but is also known widely as a very hot sports WAG — she and the Irish golfer have been together for the past couple of years. She has caddied for Rory at the last two Masters Par 3 Contests and made headlines this year with her pink hair.
These two Arizona State alumni played tennis on their first date in 1992. Sure, it’s not your average first date, but it apparently worked because they’ve been together ever since. Amy survived breast cancer after being diagnosed in 2009 and Phil has battled through psoriatic arthritis. Through it all, they’ve stuck together, even though Phil missed the cut at Augusta this year.
Another college sweetheart story applies to Diane and Luke Donald, who met at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., just north of Chicago. They’ve been married since June of 2007 and have two kids and five PGA Tour wins.
Although her husband has made over million during his career, Kristin can stand on her own two feet as she has owned her own design company since 2010. The couple married in the Bahamas in September of 2013. Must be nice.
Yet another college sweetheart story involves two former Georgia Bulldogs who both went pro. Angie, a basketball player, met Bubba, a golfer, at Georgia before she went to the WNBA and he joined the PGA Tour. She was diagnosed with an enlarged pituitary gland and he told Bubba that she could not conceive a child on their first date; they adopted a one-month-old baby boy named Caleb in March of 2012.
With Tiger Woods sidelined and Lindsey Vonn subsequently nowhere to be found, Dustin Johnson boasts the hottest and most famous WAG of The Masters. He and Paulina, daughter of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky, are engaged and frequently take lots of pictures on the beach in not much clothing. As you can see, Paulina likes to show off her assets at Dustin’s golf tournaments as well.
