Fans are a crucial part of what makes sports so amazing. Their love for the game and dedication to their teams can be inspiring. It doesn't matter, rain or shine, win or lose, fans always show up. However, here's 20 instances of fans who care way too much about sports.
This Manchester United fan has a back portrait that includes his favorite soccer players.
Browns fans are some of the most passionate fans around. Even with one of the worst NFL teams over the past 15 years, you can still find fans tailgating in the early morning hours, dressed like dogs and gearing up to root their team on from the Dawg Pound.
This fan is a familiar face for most Ohio State fans. Clearly no longer a student, Big Nut shows his Buckeye support in a colorful way at most football and basketball games.
Browns fans united to show their displeasure in the officiating crew in a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars by throwing debris and bottles onto the field in a 15-10 loss.
This decked-out Texans mobile is just one of many like it that fans across the nation bring to each and every tailgate.
Denver fans are never short of showing their support at Mile High for their beloved Broncos. No, it's not Halloween, just a fan gearing up for a Sunday meeting against the Raiders.
In a heated game between the Pacers and Pistons in 2004, fans got involved in the brawl as Ron Artest headed into the stands throwing fists.
Believe it or not, fans tend to get pretty riled up during games. In the heat of the moment, tempers flare and sometimes fists start flying.
Even with something as common as a home run or foul ball, fans can often forget the rules of sportsmanship and instinct takes over to grab the souvenir at all costs.
Yet another example of an NFL fan showing his passion for his beloved team.
Raiders fans are some of the most faithful and decorative fans in the league. It's easy to see why Oakland can be an intimidating place for teams to play.
Nothing says I love my team more than an entire back tattoo of your favorite team's logo.
New Orleans is known for Mardi Gras and its colorful celebrations. It's no different in the Super Dome with Saints fans.
With maybe one of the strangest instances of fans caring too much, the Washington Redskins have fans who wear women's dresses, garden party hats and pig snouts. Although strange, this group has helped raise money for numerous charitable organizations while cheering on their team.
Soccer matches have been known to get a little out of control, so much so that full blown riots break out. Nothing like an afternoon of soccer followed by fighting police through some tear gas.
Placement is everything. Showing your love and dedication with a team logo tattoo is one thing, but getting the logo inked above your belly button is a whole new level. At least that's what this Newcastle United soccer fan thinks.
NFL fans never cease to amaze; these Texans fans represent the Texans Elite Tactical Unit of "Super Fans." They claim to perform high-risk operations to help their team win.
Maybe more than any other fans, college students never shy away from embarrassing themselves to give their team the edge against opponents.
No matter the fine or even jail time, fans love getting attention and showing their support during sporting events by storming the field in nothing but their skivvies.
Some fans can take things too far. An Alabama fan called a radio show and admitted to poisioning Auburn University's Toomer Corner Oaks, killing the 130-year-old oak trees after Auburn defeated the Crimson Tide.
