The Pakistan Wolfpak were unable to make much noise in the postseason of Season 1, but showed lots of promise in the regular season. Despite the lack of overall team success, individual players stepped up to prove to the league that the Wolfpak will be a force to be reckoned with in Season 2.
Jahangir Nawaz was one of the most well-rounded quarterbacks in Season 1, finishing with 372 all-purpose yards (346 passing and 26 rushing) and completing 47.5 percent on his pass attempts. Whereas most teams used a multi-QB system, Pakistan put all the responsibility on Nawaz and he delivered as well as anyone could have hoped. After finishing with three TDs and three INTs, Nawaz has the skillset to improve on his already-impressive year.
The Pakistan Wolfpak did not attack on the ground very often, but when they did, Shenal Dias was the most prolific. Despite not leading the team in carries, Dias led the way in production on the ground as he finished with 72 yards on seven carries. Averaging over 10 yards per carry is no joke and Dias clearly wasn’t kidding around when on the field. Expect him to be handed the ball more than seven times in Season 2.
Shenal Dias may not have found the end zone on the ground, but he did lead the team in receiving yards, finishing the season with 119 yards and two touchdowns. In a league where size is almost a commodity, Dias and his 6-foot-4 frame became the ‘Megatron’ of the EFLI. Size can’t be taught, and Dias knows he has a long career ahead of him with that advantage.
Waqar Javaid, who also finished Season 1 with 113 receiving yards and two touchdowns, was the only player in the EFLI to record more than one sack. His ability to play both sides of the ball is not just impressive, but downright unbelievable. Thanks to Javaid, the Wolfpak led the league in sacks. As the team structure continues to fall into place, Pakistan knows it has a gem in its hands with Javaid and his skills on offense and defense.
Inthikab Sheriff led the Pakistan Wolfpak in punt return yards, finishing Season 1 with 90 yards on five returns. The Wolfpak tried to give kickoff return opportunities to multiple players. While others had their share of success, Sheriff proved to be most reliable. As the others fall into their primary roles, Sheriff will do the same as the Wolfpak's No. 1 punt return option.
