15 Athletes In High School

We all remember high school. If you were an athlete, there were some players who you just hated playing. You saw when your rival school was going to be in town, and you looked for him/her on the field or court. They may have been a trash talker, a gloater or they were just so good they made you jealous. Some of them played dirty. Some of them were cocky. These 15 current athletes would have been awful to play against.

Rob Gronkowski is the kind of athlete who would tell you all game long about how he is kicking your butt. He is so big that a normal athlete can't handle him. Your coaches spent all week game planning for this one guy, but it was to no avail. The worst part is after the game. He would have no qualms about flirting with your girlfriend.

Milan Lucic has been in the news lately for his antics during the Bruins' final series against the Montreal Canadiens. His actions during what is supposed to be a professional event, the handshake line, were not taken very well. On top of that, there are accusations of him hitting below the belt. You remember playing against the people who seemed to take it over the line.

Jason Terry is that player on the other team who thinks he is better than everyone else, but he isn't. He would go one for seven from three, but that one he made he acted like it was a buzzer beater. He talked trash, but ignored his own short-comings. He is also terrible to play with because it seems like he is allergic to passing.

Before I get yelled at, this has nothing to do with this kid's attitude. Mike Trout seems like one of the most down to Earth superstars in sports. The problem is he is so darn good. Wherever you hit the ball, he seems to catch it. No matter what type of formation you stand in, he finds the gap. As good as your stuff is, he is going to hit it.

James Harrison is a scary dude. Just look at the hit he put onto Colt McCoy and you will understand why he lands on this list. Imagine the kinds of hits he projected on opponents when Roger Goodell wasn't fining him.

If this was all-time athletes, you would see Scott Stevens on this list. Since it is current, we will have to settle for Zdeno Chara. Settle may be the wrong word, since you probably don't look forward to going up against a 6-foot-9 defenseman whose shot could probably pierce steel.

If you wrestled in high school, there is no doubt you went up against a guy like Frankie Edgar. He is an athlete with a motor that never stopped. You could be dead tired and he looks like he could run a marathon. People like this just don't know the word quit when it comes to endurance. You hate this guy because it seems like he is always hopped up on caffeine when he never drank coffee.

If you were a hockey player, it seemed like every opponent had their very own "goon." It was a rare sight when a team had a goon who could also score on you. While Brandon Prust isn't going to score at a high clip, he seems to be very clutch. Then there is the fact that he can beat up pretty much anyone.

You watch the tape on guys like Frank Gore, and you see how he messed up linebackers twice his size. If he can't run around you, he will just run through you. The worst part is the next day. You wake up feeling every single one of the times he ran you over all over again.

Marcus Smart, Oklahoma State Cowboys

Marcus Smart is the player you see on the other team who you know could be so much better. On some plays, his talent shines and he shows why he is the best player on the court. You always believe that if you had that kind of talent, then you would be so much more. Whether if that is true or not is not the argument. Either way, you hated when this guy came into town.

Jon Jones, UFC Fighter

Whether you look across the mat, the ice or the field and you see Jon Jones on the other side, you start to feel a little nervous. He looks like he should be in the WWE with his look. You hate playing against this guy because you know he is going to hurt you.

And then you meet his brother. Seriously, what are their parents feeding them? Can this really be genetics? You could also put Arthur Jones in this spot.

Tiger Woods is the best golfer in the world, but if one shot doesn't go his way he lets the world know about it. You don't understand how someone can get so mad at an inanimate object. Yelling at a golf club, or football or whatever equipment you have won't make it work better.

You just hate that player who seems to be in the referee's ear all game long. That is Carmelo Anthony. Now, while he doesn't seem to get the calls that LeBron gets, he still should just go on defense and continue to play. You hate when someone blames the refs for the outcome of games.

Did you see the hit on Michigan running back Vincent Smith? That is why Jadeveon Clowney is someone you didn't want to play in high school.
