With the Belmont Stakes coming up on Jun. 7, 2014 in Elmont, NY, here are odds and predictions for the 11 horses partaking in the race.

Being placed at the rail can really go either way, but Medal Count at 20-1 could maybe play spoiler to horses on their way up, possibly ending up in a Trifecta or Superfecta.

The Derby and Preakness winner sits in the No. 2 spot and is a heavy favorite at 3-5. Sitting at No. 2 is a great place to break like he's known to. The only question remaining is if he can do what he does at the Belmont Park distance. He likely can and history could happen.

9. Matterhorn

He's 30-1 and frankly has no business racing at this level. If you want to lay on this horse, nobody's stopping you. It's your money.

8. Commanding Curve

The one horse who poses the biggest threat to California Chrome is in a comfortable No. 4 position, and could use it to his advantage. Still oddly a longshot at 15-1, he could play spoiler.

7. Ride On Curlin

Remove California Chrome from the Preakness and Ride On Curlin would have been an incredible story. His 12-1 odds will likely get much shorter closer to post, as bettors remember Baltimore.

6. Matuszak

He's 50-1 and a longshot at best. He's had a few embarrassments recently, one at Pimlico. It may not even be worth learning how to pronounce his name.

5. Samraat

This son-of-a-gun is a dream killer. He's got the pace to stay in the hunt for most of the race and will make life miserable for the favorites. At 20-1 he belongs in an exotic bet.

His 20-1 may be some benefit of the doubt, as his sire is A.P. Indy. The problem here is that he has no break, which is a tough cross to bear in the Belmont. He could surprise, but it's not likely.

Many a race horse wants no part of this guy -- and rightfully so. At 6-1 he is among the favorites. However, those odds will likely go longer as Ride On Curlin starts to gain steam before Post. He's a good bet for a Trifecta, but it'd be a gutsy one.

2. General A Rod

Nobody wants to race way out at the No. 10 spot and nobody wants to be 20-1 at that spot. That's the situation with General A Rod. Watch the video of the Preakness and you'll see him getting completely disrespected by the field. Nothing is certain, but it doesn't look good.

This likely won't be his day, racing way out on the outside. He's a solid horse and will have a great career after his three-year-old season. At 8-1 he's not a bad idea to throw into your Superfecta if you're into that sort of thing.
