Hockey skates are sharp and Borje Salming found that out the hard way. Salming had his face stepped on back in 1986 and required 250 stitches and multiple reconstructive surgeries in order to recover from the incident. Remarkably, this injury didn't end Salming's career and he would come back to play four more seasons before retiring in 1990.
