So, you think that you're tough? Well, there are plenty of female athletes out there tougher than you. Here are 20 who could beat you up or own you in the weight room based on either their size, strength or competitive spirit.
One of the most dominant women's players in basketball history, Lisa Leslie could take you any day of the week. Not only could she dunk on you, but with her gigantic frame, she could beat you down as well.
League: Professional Tennis
Venus Williams' competitive spirit could crush you in a heartbeat. She has a 6-foot+ frame and could dominate you physically in almost every way. She's not as tough as some other women on this list, but her competitive spirit is what puts her on it.
League: International Soccer
When Brandi Chastain ripped off her Team USA jersey after a rousing win in international play, the entire world got to see just how chiseled she really is. So while she's not the biggest person in the world, it's likely she could run circles around you.
League: Professional Tennis
Serena Williams is even more competitive and successful than her sister Venus, and that makes her even scarier. She's very successful in her sport, and her tall and large stature make her an imposing figure as well.
League: Track and Field
Lolo Jones was one of the most successful track and field athletes in Olympic history, and that puts her in exceptional shape. With a world class physique, there's no doubt Jones could dominate you in anything physical on any day of the week.
Brittney Griner was the best women's basketball prospect coming out of college for good reason. Her imposing 6-foot-8 frame is extremely intimidating no matter who you are. Expect to get stuffed if you try to lay it up on her, and probably get pounded in the paint as well.
League: Pole Vaulting
As a pole vaulter, Allison Stokke has to have exceptional strength. In the weight room, she'd be able to show off that exceptional strength and embarrass you as you struggle to keep pace.
Generally thought of as one of the best WNBA players of all time, Reggie Miller's sister has game. She once scored 120 points in a high school game and can straight up ball. She's almost as large as Reggie and could dominate you anywhere on a basketball court or weight room.
Aside from Griner, Liz Cambage is the most imposing force in the WNBA. She's a towering 6-foot-8, 216 pounds and is capable of absolutely pummeling you. Good luck grabbing a rebound on her nearly 7-foot frame.
Miesha Tate is the No. 5 pound-for-pound fighter in the MMA because she's downright scary. She may look cute when she's smiling for the cameras, but if you look to much into her pearly white teeth, you may not have yours after a fight.
League: MMA and Jiu Jitsu
Sarah Kaufman is a double threat power and strength. She is trained in jiu jitsu, which is scary enough. However, she also uses this skill to fight in MMA. If you ever get into her bad graces, good luck.
Holly Holm is extremely big and strong, but most importantly, she is cunning. She uses that high fighting IQ to dominate opponents, as she's coasted to a 26-1 overall record as a fighter. Don't try picking any fights with her, because chances aren't very good that you'll be her second loss.
Check Ohla Korobka's lifting numbers and see if you could even approach the weights she's lifted. She has power jerked 325 pounds, which is absolutely insane. That means that if you're less than 325 pounds, she's capable of pulling you over her head and tossing you.
League: Jiu Jitsu
Kira Gracie is a jiu jitsu champion, and that doesn't come easy. If she used the right moves, you might just hope you'd never met her in your life. So, in the weight room, it's a safe bet you'd be dominated as well.
Gina Carrano is one of the best fighters in MMA because of her ferocity. Not only is she strong and powerful, but she uses her rage to take down her opponent with force. Just hope you don't cross paths with her.
Cat Zingano is the No. 3 pound-for-pound fighter in MMA for many reasons. Chief among those reasons is her ability to withstand even the toughest of blows. She will lull you to sleep and then pounce, which is what makes her dangerous.
Laila Ali, the daughter of the greatest boxer of all time, is ferocious in her own right. She isn't a dominant boxer, especially not as dominant as her father, but it's still a good bet she could knock you out in a single punch.
League: Power lifting
Previously appearing in the Olympics, Carissa Gump is a champion weight lifter. She's a collegiate power lifting champion because she's just flat out strong. For the most obvious of reasons, she could dominate you in the weight room.
League: Weight lifting
Aneta Florcyzk is the strongest woman in the world, and that means she's far stronger than you. Don't even try getting into a lifting competition with this woman, because it would likely turn out very ugly for you.
Ronda Rousey is the top female MMA fighter in the world, and is one scary woman. She recently won the ESPY for Best Female Athlete, and she's only getting started. In the gym, she could kick your butt and there's no doubt about that.
