With plenty of cash at their disposal, professional athletes often splurge on luxuries. Sometimes that means a house and sometimes that means an amazing sports car. These 25 athletes drive some pretty crazy luxury cars that show off their status in the sporting world. Either that, or they made some weird decisions with their endless amounts of money.

We're still not sure if this was a joke or if Garay is actually a huge Hello Kitty fan, but either way this is the real deal. The former NFL nose tackle was known for his flamboyant ride, often seen riding around San Diego and garnering serious attention.

Man this thing is ugly -- just like CJK2's grill. Impalas are awesome cars, but Johnson's decision to slap on 30-inch rims and paint it bright yellow certainly makes it stick out like a sore thumb.

This may just fit Ovechkin's personality perfectly. The NHL star decided to go bold with the matte black finish on his luxurious Mercedes-Benz SL65, finishing it off with the license plate reading "AO GR8." Sounds about right.

You know the Diesel is in town when his customized Escalade rolls up to the party. The massive SUV features scissor doors and a complete interior overhaul with his signature Superman logo. Most of his cars feature the Superman logo, but this one may be the most impressive of them all.

The Italian soccer star has a wide array of unique vehicles in his collection, but none might stand out more (ironically) than his camouflaged Bentley. Balotelli is certainly a player who stands out on the pitch, and clearly he enjoys doing the same when he hits the streets.

20. James Harrison - Smart Car

Yes, there's a Smart Car on this list. While the car itself isn't epic, the fact that a former athlete known for his bad attitude and ferocious hitting drives that little box of death is the epic part. Not sure what Harrison is thinking, but it somehow kind of works for him.

19. Alfred Morris - 1991 Mazda 626

Again, another situation where the car itself isn't epic. However, considering most NFL players have a shiny new car before they even cash their first paycheck, it's epic that Morris still has yet to move on from his 1991 Mazda 626, which he refers to as "Bentley." He holds on to the car as a reminder of where he came from.

We're not entirely sure either. Part of us wants to think it's awesome, while the other wants to puke. Either way, Hulk Hogan is a pretty epic guy in and of himself, so this car truly does represent the wrestling legend.

As one of the best quarterbacks of all time, Brady has earned his fair share of money during his playing career. With that money he has purchased several sports cars from the Audi brand, the nicest being this beautiful, red-hot R8.

Some people are going to hate this car. Others, however, probably think it's awesome. McFadden took the 1972 Buick Centurion, give it a 15' lift and 32' wheels, and gave it a purple and green paint job. Not your typical custom job, but I guess it works for the Raiders running back.

There's plenty of reason to think this car is a mess, but upon further examination, Hill appears to have brought his vision to life in a great way. The flowing lines and clash of red and black seems to have worked. Welcome to the epic category, Mr. Hill.

14. Chad Johnson - Custom "Super Truck"

Even though Johnson owns several sports cars, his customized semi-truck might be his finest piece of work. It's only when you look closely that you can tell it's a semi truck because he makes it look like a very cool ride.

There are muscle cars, and then there's Joe Johnson's ride. A completely tricked-out truck, Johnson's XUV looks more like a transformer than a car. Well, when you have the money, why not buy a car that looks like a transformer?

A golfer is perhaps the last person you'd expect to have a throwback car, but that's exactly what Watson has. His orange Charger with the 01 decal on the side looks pretty awesome whether you're a car enthusiast, Duke of Hazard enthusiast or both.

Cena already has his hands on just about every awesome muscle car you wish you had in your garage. So what could he do to take his collection to the next level? Oh, just have a custom "SuperCar" built for him. He calls it the "InCENArator," and it looks like some sort of futuristic contraption. Pretty epic, especially since it came from 2125.

Many kids collect toy cars when they're young. Well, Mayweather still collects cars, except they're real cars and they're all luxury sports cars. The crown jewels of his collection are two nearly identical Rolls Royce Phantoms, one of which was a gift from rapper 50 Cent.

Even though he's on the downslope of his career, Beckham continues to ride in style. His Camaro wouldn't seem overly flashy other than the fact that he had it completely custom made. With some of the best mechanics in the country working on it, his car turned out beautifully.

The Mariners' ace knows what he's doing when he's shopping for cars. His custom made version of an already amazing car may be the best in all of sports. Cruising around Seattle in this ride, he better make sure the windshield wipers are just as fancy to wipe away all the upper Northwest rain.

Most athletes like to stand out from the crowd, and French soccer player Gallas is no different. While the McLaren Mercedes SLR is already an epic car on its own, the fact that he coated the entire car in chrome just ramps it up to a whole new level of epicness.

Appropriately, LeBron's car is a ride fit for a King. While James does own several other luxury sports cars, the Ferrari he drives around on occasion is the nicest piece of machinery that he owns.

Another avid car collector, Wilson has owned his fair share of awesome cars. However, this one was different. Not only did he have to go through an extensive application process, but this limited edition McLaren also cost him a cool $1.15 million. Well worth the dough if you have it, though.

As an NBA legend, it almost seems mandatory that Kobe Bryant has a sweet ride. That's a good thing because he does have a very sick ride. His Aventador is one of the cooler-looking Lamborghini models, and it certainly suits one of the best players to ever play the game of basketball.

This former NFL back will be able to cruise into retirement in style. All Lamborghinis are awesome, but getting it custom made in a bright yellow color makes it catch the eye of everyone around. He may be done in the NFL, but his car collection is likely just getting started.

Doesn't this car remind you of that epic scene in Gone in 60 Seconds? If it doesn't, you definitely need to watch that movie - assuming you have a true appreciation for awesome cars. Bush is known as one of the biggest car collectors in the sports world, and this Shelby certainly takes the cake.
