Most of us all wanted to be professional athletes growing up, but the vast majority of us never even came close. Hopefully, we all find ways to enjoy whatever it is we end up doing for a living, but here are 20 ways that professional athletes have it much, much better than us.
Being a professional athlete means that you get to attend award shows like the ESPYS, which has to have an incredible after party and allows you to be in the same room as many other top athletes and celebrities.
Being a professional athlete means that you get access to every facility your team offers. If you've ever been inside a practice field or a professional weight room, it's easy to see why professional athletes can get themselves into such great shape.
Tom Brady might look upset in this picture, but it beats having to wake up every morning for the same 9-5 grind. It's true professional athletes need to be smart about their incomes, but those who are will never have to work a day of their lives behind a desk.
It's a good thing to care about your line of work, but few other professions stack up to the personal pride that professional athletes put into their craft.
Playing for personal pride is all and well, but it's even more incredible when you have an entire city on your back.
In Michael Vick's case, he needed an attorney, but many other athletes get to take full advantage of having full-time nutritionists, personal trainers and financial partners or advisers.
Many people pay good money to rep a certain brand during their job, but professional athletes flip the switch and make a ton of their annual income from endorsement deals.
Getting hurt is one of the negative effects of being a professional athlete, but on a positive note, those who do get injured have access to the best medical staffs in the United States.
Paul "Biz Nasty" Bissonnette is a great example of an athlete who built a social media empire and basically kept himself employed because of it.
While professional athletes still have to train over the offseason, and some may say it's the most important time of the year, it must be nice only having to be in season for half of the year.
Have the flu? Need an off day? Well, why don't you just sit up in the pressbox and collect your paycheck anyway.
I mean, come on; pro athletes get paid to play a game. How awesome is that?
If you're good enough, you might be asked to host an episode of Saturday Night Live. Peyton Manning gave us a sketch that is still one of the funniest in the last five years.
I can't imagine there are a lot of accountants out there who can find a bobblehead of themselves.
Being a professional athlete means that you are automatically a leader in the community. Some take more advantage of it than others, but it's still a pretty cool perk.
If you're good enough, you get to travel to a foreign country and represent your homeland. That's about as cool as it gets for professional athletes, and some may even view an Olympic gold medal as more important than the top trophy in their respective sport.
One of the biggest differences between professional athletes and the normal worker is that athletes always have connections with other celebrities, which puts them in circles and takes them to places that most of us probably can't even imagine.
Not only do professional athletes get to hang out with other celebrities, but they also have a much better chance of dating other celebrities. Mike Fisher is married to Carrie Underwood, which I guess isn't a bad pickup.
There's one thing about professional athletes that is rarely talked about, which is the untouchable bond they have and the immense amount of respect they all have for each other.
Let's be honest, money can buy happiness, and professional athletes have plenty of it. All the incredible things on this list have a greater personal value than cash, but none of it would be possible without the millions of dollars that professional athletes make.
