There are tons of jobs out there in the sports world that go beyond playing and coaching. At one time or another, I'm sure you've thought to yourself "I could do that." What better way to be close to the action than to be paid for doing it! Here are 15 jobs everyone would love to try.
If you’ve ever been to a baseball match the groundskeepers have caught your eye. You’re curious to see if it's as easy as it looks to comb the dirt in between innings and have it look so perfect.
Hockey PAs are one of the ones who have the most fun. When you’re at the ice rink, you wish you were in the press box announcing the game.
NHL Ice Girls are more than just the cheerleaders of the Hockey world. You know you want to see if you could keep up with them and help fix the ice that players break up during the game.
The MLB batboys sound like comic book sidekicks, and they basically are the sidekicks of the baseball team. You want to see if you are as quick as these kids, and maybe try to get an autograph or two.
If you’re a soccer fan, you envy the ball kids. You want those sideline seats where you get to touch the match balls and even hand them to a player every once in a while.
Some baseball sportscasters are legends because of their ability to keep it interesting. You’d love to test your limits and see if you can find things to talk about between pitches and hits.
There is nothing more intimidating than being in a ring with two boxers trying to knock each other out. How exciting would it be to be the one to decide when a boxer has KOed.
Although the Anthem Singer is not a permanent job, singing your country’s song would be quite the rush -- if you can deal with the stage fright, of course.
If you’ve ever been to Wrigley or Fenway, you know the manual scoreboard is a thing of beauty. It would be great to be able to be the number turner in this very old school fashion.
Referees get a lot of trash talking in any sport, but the World Cup is a world of its own. You want to know if you can handle the pressure and if you can deal with the angry players without giving them all a red card.
Some sports change their jerseys often. It is often left in the hands of the clothing company’s designers -- it would be great to see your jersey being worn by your favorite team.
Baseball has other sports beat in instant reply. It would be great to be one of the umpires at the Replay Command Center and being in control of the final call of a play.
Everyone loves a team mascot regardless of how outdated it is. It would be fun -- but probably hot -- to be your favorite team's mascot and pump up the crowd.
Sports commentators may get a lot of flack, but you can guarantee they have a lot of fun doing it. You think you have a lot to say, and sports commentators are the ones who are heard even if you disagree with their opinions.
NASCAR is loud and fast. Do you think you can handle the noise? Being a part of a pit crew would be the best job in the world, if you can keep up.
