When the Elite Football League of India (EFLI) was founded in 2011, public reception was mixed. Those closely connected to the league had enough hope in the potential of an action-packed sport with a nation of a billion; others doubted that same potential, predicting that it would flame out before an inaugural season ever took place.
As the league inches closer to the start of its second season now, the critics have mostly backed down. Sports in India is a business. And business is booming.
Gameplan Creative recently announced that it will be receiving the inaugural CLIO Sports Design Bronze Award.
The award aims to honor “breakthrough work in sports marketing and advertising globally,” according to the initial press release.
“A brand is one of the most valuable assets of an organization, and it must be carefully crafted to ensure it properly represents the business, and resonates with the intended customer base,” said Tom O’Grady, partner and chief creative officer of Gameplan Creative. “We are proud to receive this prestigious award and to be recognized for the strong brand identity we developed for the Elite Football League of India.”
