Sometimes athletes just can't help but celebrate. However, if both people doing a handshake aren't on the same page, it can make for some awkward situations. Here are videos of the 10 biggest handshake fails in the history of sports.

So this isn't so much a fail as a mistimed joke. Everyone saw what he was going for, but since Neal didn't fully commit to the joke, it just looked really awkward.

He may have been accepting an award, but Neymar totally failed on this handshake attempt. Even though it may have been equally the woman's fault for the gaffe, it doesn't make him look any less ridiculous.

8. Bubba Watson

Basking in the glory of a Masters victory, Watson clearly doesn't realize what order he's supposed to shake people's hands in. He initially goes in for the right guy, but then pulls back at the last second. However, he's the one wearing the green jacket, so he likely isn't the one feeling too foolish in that scenario.

7. Luis Suarez

In honor of Shark Week, Suarez had to be featured here. He isn't just a poor sport by biting opponents but apparently by dissing them on handshakes as well. His slight almost ended up causing a pre-game brawl amongst the two teams.

6. Kevin Love

It's a good thing Love is headed to the Cavaliers, because he clearly didn't have the team chemistry in Minnesota necessary to complete a proper handshake. Handshake or not, he now has LeBron James on his side, which can never be a bad thing on the basketball court.

5. Ichiro Suzuki

C'mon, Ichiro; all the crazy and likely drunk fan wanted to do was shake your hand. Well, before he had a chance the fan got rocked by what looked like J.J. Watt who apparently works ballpark security in his spare time.

4. Rio Ferdinand

It's clear why Ferdinand is a soccer star and not a boxing legend. While he may be friends with a few boxers, this handshake was a total fail, and he tried to play it off as if nothing ever happened.

3. Herm Edwards

The former Chiefs coach and current ESPN analyst went in for the empathic fist pound and got a hand shake? At least he did some ad-libbing and turned it into a handshake before it got really awkward, but it was still clearly noticeable.

Okay, so these handshakes from several years ago are pretty cool. However, it makes it clear that the particular Florida State baseball team had a little bit too much time on their hands.

A major figure in New Zealand cricket, Key had one of the most epic handshake fails of all time. Most of the time an epic handshake fail involves and humiliates just two people. However, Key's gaffe was so bad that it managed to humiliate three.
