Indian Super League’s List of International Players Shows Promise

The Indian Super League (ISL) held its inaugural International Player Draft on August 21 in Mumbai, India. While a name like Michael Chopra, Bernard Mendy and Luis Garcia dominated the headlines, it was clear that all 49 players in the draft were going to make a positive impact on the league.

There are 8 teams in the league that is set to get started later in the calendar year.

As specified, teams were expected to specify one individual as a marquee player. Garcia is the marquee player for Kolkata; David James is the choice for the Kerala Blasters; Juan Capdevilla has the job for North East United, and David Trezeguet gets to be the marquee player for FC Pune City.
