One of the most important aspects of the newly introduced Indian Super League (ISL) is the impact international players are expected to have on and off the field. Not only does the level of play depend on this imports, but also the league's marketing and sponsorships. Here are the three priciest players selected in the 2014 ISL International Players Draft.

For ,000 USD (23.7 lakh), the Kerala Blasters selected Michael Chopra in round 1 of the draft. At just 30 years of age, Chopra has plenty to offer the team, the league and the future of football in India. “I want to be part of the legend of Sachin Tendulkar,” said Chopra. “Everyone knows him because of how well he’s done in cricket and hopefully I can follow in his footsteps in football. “Things are really starting to take off in India."

Atletico de Kolkata spent ,000 (42.5 lakh) to have the rights to right-back José Miguel González Rey, aka Josemi, the one-time UEFA Champions League winner (Liverpool, 2005). Josemi brings a ton of experience to both the team and league. Fortunately for him, he's familiar with the team's manager, fellow countryman Antonio Lopez.

Drafted early in the 1st round by Chennai, Mendy was the priciest player in the International draft with a price tag of ,000 USD (48.6 lakh). The French footballer adds both experience and speed to the roster. Most recently with Brest of the French 2nd tier, Mendy has played for Hull City, Bolton Wanderers, Paris Saint-Germain, and Caen. He had the majority of his appearances with PSG from 2000-2008.

Goa picked Argolin in the sixth round.
