As of the start of September, India's main threat at the top of the ODI standings is South Africa. South African does play Australia and Zimbabwe in back-to-back ODI matches, giving them the chance to prove they're better than India. With the way India has played against England, however, hope is plenty.

Following India's embarrassing Test performance against England, the squad has turned it around for the ODIs. "India look a completely different team to the rabble that threw in the towel in the recent Test series. They are currently giving their hosts a lesson in how to play 50 over cricket," said Alec Stewart, former captain of England.
