If Magic Johnson and Larry Bird faced off in the NBA Finals with a chance to win a ring, I’m sure the two wouldn’t be hanging out after the game, no matter the outcome. Even though those two rivals wouldn’t be quick to meet up after the game, it doesn’t mean everyone is like that.

After Serena Williams beat Caroline Wozniacki for her third US Title match in a row, the two went out to have a little fun, and it was pretty cool to see.

Williams shared some pictures of their night after the U.S. Open on her Instagram account and has about 20,000 likes on all of them right now, so fans must appreciate the sportsmanship between the two.

It’s no surprise that athletes are friends with other athletes because they share a common ground with the same aspirations and goals. Even though the match between Williams and Wozniacki is business, there is nothing wrong with the two having a good time afterwards.

A similar occurrence took place when the Dallas Mavericks took down the Miami Heat in 2011 to win the NBA title. After the game, Heat players were seen partying with the Mavericks and taking part in the post-game festivities. Sure, this probably would’ve never happened if this was the 1980s, but it’s a different time in 2014 and all of these athletes are connected on and off the court.

It’s really cool to see Wozniacki show no ill feelings towards Williams because there’s nothing she can do about her loss — she was beaten fair and square. I’m sure the two talked about the match, Williams bragged about how she beat her, and the two enjoyed the night.
