Whether it be Chicago, New York or Los Angeles, professional athletes always seem to flock to the more glamorous cities in the United States. A wide variety of athletes are actually born and raised in these major cities, but perhaps the most popular of all is without a doubt Los Angeles. The beautiful weather, combined with the beaches and nightlife, makes Los Angeles by far more appealing than its competition.

The former Boston Red Sox outfielder, Carl Crawford made Los Angeles his new home when he inked a deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers for seven years and 2 million.

Although he recently joined the Chicago Bulls via free agency, Pau Gasol is highly unlikely to give up his Los Angeles residency. He is a beloved figure in the city and has lived there for nearly seven years. Also, Gasol's neighbor is former teammate Robert Sacre, so that's even more reason to stick around.

When the Phoenix Suns were seeking a sign-and-trade for Steve Nash, the Lakers were the most ideal situation, as Nash would still be near his kids in Arizona. Therefore, he pushed for a move to Los Angeles, Manhattan Beach in particular. Nash has since expressed his love for Manhattan Beach and how it has aided his long, draining rehabilitation.

A lifetime Los Angeles King, Dustin Brown has resided in the city dating back to when he was selected No. 13 in the 2003 NHL Draft. In his career, Brown has been named the team captain, leading his Kings to two Stanley Cup victories.

Once upon a time, Chris Paul was the centerpiece to a trade sending him to the Los Angeles Lakers. However, the deal was infamously vetoed by David Stern, resulting in Paul ultimately being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. Either way, Paul was always destined to life in the City of Angels, though he would have looked better in the Purple and Gold.

Dwight Howard may have been miserable in his brief stint as a Laker, but this did not cause him to hesitate on dropping million on a Newport Beach house. The peculiar part of this though, was that he spent such a substantial amount of money while he was a Laker, leading fans to believe he was staying. Of course this only led to more letdown in the end.

The ace of MLB, Clayton Kershaw has been an unstoppable force throughout his career. His historical 2013-14 campaign will presumably lead to a monster pay day, but I would not expect the Dodgers to allow him to leave. Kershaw will be a Los Angeles resident for many years.

Los Angeles is not Floyd Mayweather's primary residence, but when you have money like he does, you can afford to have houses across the country. Mayweather currently has a Los Angeles mansion, where I'm sure he visits quite often.

Newport Beach has been home to Kobe Bryant for years now; in fact, he owns three total homes there. Seeing that Bryant will be a Laker for the remainder of his career, don't expect him to leave town anytime soon.
