Comparing India's 2014 Asian Games performance to that in 2010, there's one thing that's clear: India's female athletes have moved up tremendously in the medal tally.

In boxing, for example, women outdid the men three medals to two, including a historic gold - India's first - from Mary Kom.

In 2010, about 30 percent of India's 65 medals were won by women. This year, female athletes won over 47 percent of India's total medals. With a lack of coaches and poorer access to facilities and resources, India's females are proving once again nothing can stop them.

In track & field events, Indian women destroyed the men. Women won 9 medals, including two golds. The men totaled just 4 medals, none being gold. The Indian relay team proved the 2010 performance was not a fluke, defending their title in dominating fashion.
