Somdev Devvarman, India's No. 1 tennis star, announced he'll be playing for the newly-formed Punjab Marshalls of the Champions Tennis League (CTL).

'Hai Dum' - the team's tag line - aims to suggest that the four-member team is built around the strength, skills and achievements of each player.

Besides Somdev, Punjab Marshalls have more than enough talent to brag about. They not only have former great Greg Rusedski and the up-and-coming Garbine Muguruza, but also the tournament's highest ranked men's player in David Ferrer.

The Marshalls will begin their tournament against Delhi on November 17.

For those unfamiliar with Somdev, he made headlines first for being the only NCAA tennis player to make it to three consecutive finals, winning back-to-back years as a Junior and Senior at the University of Virginia.

In 2011, the Indian government awarded him the Arjuna award for his international tennis success.
