15 Athletes Who Could Pass As High Schoolers

Some athletes are just born with that menacing and intimidating look of a professional athlete. Others, simply enough, have baby faces and might need the help of facial hair to make it look like they belong with the best and biggest in the world. Here are 15 athletes who could pass as high schoolers.

With his helmet on, there is no doubt Stafford has the look of an NFL quarterback. The Detroit Lions' signal-caller is 6-foot-3 and over 230 pounds with one of the strongest arms in the league. Take off the helmet and you would think he belongs on a high school field.

The Utah Jazz leader shot onto the basketball radar when he took the underdog Butler University Bulldogs to the National Championship in 2010. Hayward signed a $ 63 million contract in July of this year.

It would be great to go back and look at the reactions of people who had never heard of Rubio when he walked on stage after being drafted. They probably had the same look on their face people do now when the baby-faced Timberwolves point guard sets up his teammates to score with an array of no-look and seemingly impossible passes.

Get ready to be shocked for a second or two -- Tim Lincecum is 30. Much like Rubio and his beard, The Giants pitcher grew out his hair for several years in what my guess was an effort to look older. Lincecum is about 170 pounds and 5-foot-10 with two Cy Young Awards and three World Series titles to his name.

The 21-year-old Nugent-Hopkins was selected first overall in the 2011 draft and is already in his fourth NHL season. Yes, you read that right; this guy who looks like he belongs in his high school gym class has already played three full seasons at the highest level.

The Washington Redskins' backup is best known for his illustrious career at the University of Texas. McCoy holds just about every quarterback record in the storied history of Longhorns football. Now a member of the Redskins, Washington fans were chanting for McCoy to enter the game following starter Robert Griffin III’s struggles this past weekend.

Rory McIlroy may possess the looks of a teenager, but he might just be the best golfer in the world today. His slight 5-foot-9, 160-pound build isn’t helping the 25-year-old Northern Irishman look any older either.

8. Patrick Kane

Already by the age of 25, the Chicago Blackhawks forward has won two Stanley Cups, been named MVP of the playoffs, been named rookie of the year and won a silver medal. I’d say the Blackhawks made a good choice taking the fresh-faced Kane first overall in the 2007 NHL Draft.

7. LaMichael James

The 5-foot-9 James was a perfect fit in Chip Kelly’s offense at the University of Oregon. The diminutive “LMJ” was able to squeeze his way through any hole in opposing defenses on his way to becoming the university’s all-time career rushing leader. James was selected in the second round by the San Francisco 49ers and currently plays for the Miami Dolphins.

The lanky Philadelphia 76ers point guard is 23 years old and the winner of the 2014 NBA Rookie of the Year award. Along with Oscar Robertson and Magic Johnson, “MCW” is the only other player in NBA history to average at least 16 points, six assists and six rebounds in a rookie season.

In addition to his baby-face, the Philadelphia Phillies' speedy outfielder brings a youthful exuberance to the ballpark each and every day. His style of play even reminds of someone younger. Revere hits for a high average, but he has just two career Major League home runs.

Fowler had a breakout year in 2014, with a top-five finish of all four of golf’s major championships. At only 5-foot-9 and just over 150 pounds, it’s a wonder this 25-year-old is able to blast it on the fairway as well as he does.

When Glennon’s face flashed on the television screen after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected the quarterback in the third round of the NFL Draft, much of the country must have been wondering why the team would want a 15-year-old playing for them.

It’s fitting the Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman has the last name he does, because his face could be mistaken for someone young enough to appear on the purple dinosaur’s show.

Part of the charm and greatness of Stephen Curry is how he looks like a little kid out on the floor. A little kid doing whatever he wants, just having fun on the court and knocking down threes from near half-court. Has there been a more fitting and awesome nickname in basketball than Curry’s “baby-faced assassin?”
