Many children look up to athletes and the pros are expected to be role models, but as we all know, that is not always the case. Many temptations come with the money and fame of being a professional athlete and some sadly fall into drugs. Here are 15 pro athletes who have been busted for marijuana.

During a traffic stop in 2001, police found 213 pounds of marijuana in Newton’s white van. The former Dallas Cowboy was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for drug trafficking.

Morris had a successful NFL career as a running back with many different teams, but has become better known for his off-field troubles. Morris pleaded guilty in 1996 to felony possession of marijuana after police found four kilograms of marijuana and one gram of cocaine in his car. Four years later, Morris pleaded guilty to two counts of federal drug trafficking and was sentenced to 30 months in prison.

Back in February of 2013, the current Miami Heat player pleaded guilty to the possession of marijuana. He was only given one day in jail and a $ 500 fine, even though a policeman caught him blatantly smoking outside of his parked Porsche.

One of the greatest guards in the history of the NBA, Allen Iverson was arrested during the 1997 offseason for carrying a concealed weapon and for possession of marijuana. So maybe that's why "The Answer" was missing practice.

Along with Blazers teammate Damon Stoudemire, Rasheed Wallace was pulled over for speeding. During the traffic stop, officers smelled marijuana and discovered the substance in the car. The two Portland stars eventually agreed to a plea deal and the “Jail Blazers” were born.

Two-time Cy Young award winner and three-time World Series champion Tim Lincecum of the San Francisco Giants has become famous for his laid-back style. It was no surprise when the diminutive pitcher was cited for marijuana possession after police smelled the substance coming from inside of his car during a traffic stop for speeding.

The former San Francisco Giants' Hall of Famer was arrested and charged with possession of approximately 165 pounds of marijuana. He would serve only nine months of his five-year sentence.

In April of 2005, this six-time NBA All-Star pleaded guilty for the possession of marijuana. According to the King County Sheriff’s office, Kemp and another man were found with 60 grams of marijuana, cocaine and a semiautomatic pistol in a pickup truck owned by one of them.

Best known for his ridiculously impressive front flip into the end zone a few years ago while with the Cincinnati Bengals, things have gone downhill for the wide receiver. Simpson was sentenced to 15 years in jail for receiving two pounds of marijuana that was shipped to his home.

The former Dallas Cowboy was arrested late in 2011 for allegedly attempting to purchase and distribute large quantities of cocaine and marijuana. The case was investigated while Hurd was still a member of the Cowboys. Hurd pled guilty in 2013 and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

After sheriff deputies of Butler County discovered 29 pounds of marijuana in the former NBA player’s possession, he was sentenced to one year in prison in December of 2009. Although the judge rejected Blount’s claim that the drug was for personal use, he did not sentence him to the maximum 10 years in prison.

A decade before receiving the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award, Camby was convicted of marijuana possession in South Windsor Connecticut, after police pulled him over for a driving offense. He was required to complete 16 hours of community service at the time.

Well known for his ongoing rap sheet of legal strife, the former USC star and NFL quarterback was convicted for growing marijuana in 1997. He served two months in jail and then a third month at a minimum-security facility in Orange County.

This Hall of Fame tennis star was arrested in 1994 and charged with a misdemeanor for marijuana possession. She was only 18 at the time, and enrolled in a drug-counseling program shortly after the incident.

The Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher was found guilty of fourth-degree misdemeanor drug abuse in 2013. Perez was forced to pay a $ 250 fine and serve one year of probation. A six-ounce bag of marijuana was addressed to his home and the pitcher admitted the drugs belonged to him.
