Force India continues to focus on its long-term success as it signed Sergio Perez to a new multi-year contract that will keep the driver with the team through 2016. His contract had recently been extended for a year, but has now just been extended for a further 12 months.

“I believe we can continue to achieve great things together in the future,” Perez said. “I feel at home here.”

In his first season with Force India, Perez, at just 24 years of age, is No. 12 in the drivers’ championship. Perez joined Force India after being let go by McLaren.

“He has a very bright future in Formula One and we will do our utmost to give him the equipment to match his talent,” Force India co-owner Vijay Mallya said about the extension.

Alongside the announcement regarding Perez, Force India confirmed their dedication to continue their partnership with Mexican telecommunications giant America Movil. Telmex and Claro are main subsidiaries of the company. There are expectations of the unveiling of a “new look” in January 2015 in Mexico City.

“It’s good to announce my plans,” Perez said. “As soon as I joined Sahara Force India, I noticed the hunger and determination of everyone in the team, and I’m very proud to be part of that.”
