Sports analysts are supposed to be among the brightest minds in all of sports. That said, anyone who watches sports can tell you that's not always the case, as there are some analysts who are flat-out terrible at their job. Here are the worst of the worst when it comes to sports analysts.

Stephen A. Smith's in-your-face personality makes him hard to stomach at times. He often seems to talk just to hear his own voice, and his nonsensical rants make him one of the worst commentators in sports today.

I want to like Chris Berman. Really, I do, but his antics on set just come across as annoying to me. Shouting different verbs loudly worked for a while, but it's started to get old in recent years.

8. Jim Rome

When he was with ESPN, Jim Rome earned a reputation of being a jerk who thought he was better than anyone else. After ESPN got sick of his act and sent him packing, Rome landed with CBS, where he has continued to be a terrible analyst on his radio show.

7. Magic Johnson

Magic Johnson is extremely likable, but that doesn't make him a great sports analyst. His shallow analysis and bias for the Lakers make him hard to watch.

Like Johnson, Charles Barkley is likable, but also like Johnson, Barkley is a terrible analyst. I literally don't remember a time in which I heard something profound come from Barkley's mouth. He was a great basketball player, but he's not a great analyst.

5. Tony Dungy

Simply put, Tony Dungy is one of the most boring analysts to ever walk the face of the Earth. Dungy has no personality, and while he has a great sports mind, his boring ways make him impossible to watch.

4. Joe Buck

Although he is the son of legendary sportscaster Jack Buck, Joe Buck isn't nearly the analyst his father was. Buck is brazenly biased, and his know-it-all personality is overbearing. Buck is simply not a good analyst.

Dick Vitale might be the most annoying analyst in sports today. He's certainly passionate, but his lack of actual basketball knowledge is obvious. Putting an exclamatory "baby" after every sentence doesn't make you a good analyst, Mr. Vitale.

Cris Collinsworth is one of the most disliked commentators on the planet, and it's easy to see why. His baseless judgments, awful jokes and senseless analogies make him one of the worst analysts in sports.

Skip Bayless is easily the worst analyst in sports today. He seems to believe that just because he has an opinion and he can yell it, that it's right. His baseless arguments and huge ego make him a terrible analyst.
