Pakistan enters the 2015 Cricket World Cup being doubted by many after losing the likes of Saeed Ajmal and Umar Gul. The 1992 champs have much pride, however, and will do everything they can do survive in a competitive Group B.

With rookies like Yasir Shah, Ehsan Adil and Sohail Khan, the team has has very little time to build chemistry before the opening match against arch-rivals, India.

Led by Wahab Riaz, Junaid Khan and Muhammad Irfan, Pakistan’s bowling can keep the squad in any match, regardless of how the batting is doing. With the pitches in Australia favorable to the pacers, Pakistan has the right conditions to make it at least to the semi-finals.

On the other side of the ball, the team’s middle order led by Younis Khan is one of the best in the world.

This is a list of the Pakistan squad for the 2015 Cricket World Cup to be held from February 14 to March 29, 2015:

  • Ahmed Shehzad

  • Ehsan Adil

  • Haris Sohail

  • Junaid Khan

  • Misbah-ul-Haq (capt)

  • Mohammad Hafeez

  • Mohammad Irfan

  • Sarfraz Ahmed (wk)

  • Shahid Afridi

  • Sohaib Maqsood

  • Sohail Khan

  • Umar Akmal

  • Wahab Riaz

  • Yasir Shah

  • Younus Khan

According to BBC Sport, “teams were required to name a 30-man provisional squad before finalising a 15-strong squad for the competition by 7 January. Injured players can only be replaced with special dispensation from the International Cricket Council.”
