Sri Lanka enters the 2015 Cricket World Cup as one of the teams with most momentum.

They won the tournament back in 1996 and have reached the finals in the last two tournaments. With their captain finishing as the best ODI player in 2014, watch out for Sri Lanka in this year’s World Cup.

It will be tough to finish ahead of England, New Zealand and Australia, but with how strong the middle-order bowling is, Sri Lanka will definitely ruin some teams’ hopes this year.

This is a list of the Sri Lanka squad for the 2015 Cricket World Cup to be held from February 14 to March 29, 2015:

  • Dinesh Chandimal (wk)

  • Tillakaratne Dilshan

  • Rangana Herath

  • Mahela Jayawardene

  • Dimuth Karunaratne

  • Nuwan Kulasekara

  • Suranga Lakmal

  • Lasith Malinga (subject to fitness)

  • Angelo Mathews (capt)

  • Jeevan Mendis

  • Thisara Perera

  • Dhammika Prasad

  • Kumar Sangakkara (wk)

  • Sachithra Senanayake

  • Lahiru Thirimanne

According to BBC Sport, “teams were required to name a 30-man provisional squad before finalising a 15-strong squad for the competition by 7 January. Injured players can only be replaced with special dispensation from the International Cricket Council.”
