Car Loves in India Excited for AMG GT Sports Car

Car lovers in India have a great deal to look forward to in 2015 as Mercedes plans to launch AMG GT sports car in India, replacing the SLS AMG as the company’s flagship model.

Expected to be priced between INR 2.0 to 2.25 crore, the AMG GT should be arriving in plenty of India stores by March 2015, says Mercedes Benz CEO Eberhard Kern. This news is received very well as car enthusiasts have been awaiting another announcement since Kern teased the idea back in October.

The GT uses a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 that yields out 462 PS and 510 PS for the GT and GT S variants, respectively, with claimed naught to 100kmph sprint figures of under 4 seconds. The top speed for the GT is in the range of 310 kmph, approximately 192 mph.

What potentially makes the launch that much more anticipated is the fact that the AMG GT will feature wide use of aluminum that will without a doubt increase performance and handling.

Competitors: Porsche 911 Turbo, Jaguar F-Type R, Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

Expected Price: INR 2-2.25 crores, ex-Showroom.

Launch date: March 2015 (according to the report)
