Virat Kohli became the second-most followed Indian athlete on Facebook last week as he crossed the 20-million fans mark. Sachin Tendulkar - of course - sits atop the list.

At just 26 years old, Kohli became the first Indian batsman to score a century against arch-rivals Pakistan in last weekend's World Cup match. Only Kohli and Tendulkar have crossed the 20 million benchmark.

In regards to all international athletes, Tendulkar is No. 13 on the list of athletes with most Facebook followers. Kohli is No. 20 overall on that list.

Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentina's Leo Messi are No. 1 and No. 2 on that list, respectively.

Last December, Kohli became the most-followed cricketer on Twitter.

"This is yet another milestone on Virat's ever growing list of achievements on and off the field," said B. Sajdeh, CEO Cornerstone Sports. Virat has gone from 5 million last year to 20 million on facebook today, which is an extraordinary rate of climb and clearly emphasises his popularity and reach as a youth icon. He is extremely happy and humbled to say the least."
