India has won the Cricket World Cup twice and finished as No. 2 once - but the country has yet to defeat South Africa on the big stage. India once again gets a chance in 2015 as the two sides meet in one of the more anticipated matchups in recent history. With South Africa boasting a deep batting and bowling order, does India even have a chance?

Here are a few ways India can get its first inaugural win over SA at the World Cup.

In the three defeats India has to South Africa in the World Cup, they have batted first. Why not hope to bat second this time? If India does win the toss, they better change up the trend and bat second.

South Africa is known to go on scoring droughts when they bat second, having lost four of their five matches in the knock-out stages of the World Cup when batting second.

There's a fairly high chance the weather plays a role in this match. At least in the past, South Africa has not done well with any sort of distractions or chaos. A bit of rain can rattle the whole team. Think back to 1992 or even 2003 - the weather absolutely put a damper in South Africa's title hopes. Of course this is more or less out of the control of the players, but a bit of hope and positive energy can't hurt. Please, rain!

Whereas a team like Australia thrives when they know they're the odds-on favorites, South Africa prefers to play under the radar. Who knows, maybe throwing in some kind words prior to the match will throw South African players' emotions all out of whack.

The game may be played on the pitch, but it's usually won between the ears.
