Generally, most athletes are thought of as tough guys without true emotions. However, there are several guys who are total teddy bears. Out of that group, there are more who are total mama’s boys. As Mother’s Day approaches, here’s a look at 15 athletes who love their moms way more than you love your own.

Cam Newton — Cam Newton is extremely intense when he's playing, but off the field he's really not all that crazy. He always makes it known how important his mom is to him which makes him seem more like a softy -- and there's nothing wrong with that.

Matthew Stafford — It may not come as a total surprise that this Lions quarterback is a mama's boy, as he just seems like a sort of shy and quiet guy. When he's with his mom, though, he can't help but gush about a number of things.

Floyd Mayweather — Mayweather might be the last person you'd expect to have a great relationship with their mother, but the top boxer in the world is very close with his mom. Maybe she can knock some sense into him about his past with domestic violence.

Tiger Woods — Good thing Tiger wasn't still living at home when he started sleeping around with women outside his marriage, because his mom would have put him in timeout. He doesn't really try to impress many people specifically, but his mom is an exception to that.

LeBron James — The greatest basketball player of this generation will always credit his upbringing for where he is today. He is also very quick to credit his mom with raising him the right way.

Rob Gronkowski — Even though he parties hard and is intense when he's burning opposing secondaries, Gronk loves his mom to death and doesn't mind showing it one bit. It would be interesting to know what she thinks of his party-hard lifestyle.

Adrian Peterson — AP had somewhat of a hard upbringing, but his mom was always there for him. He credits her every step of the way for his success, and it's clear just how important she is to him when he appears with her.

Patrick Kane — During the lockout year in the NHL, Kane actually lived with his mom the entire time and their relationship really blossomed even further after that. It also helped Kane to mature as a person as a player and helped him to elevate his game to new levels.

Bryce Harper — Since he was forced to grow up so fast as he quickly developed into one of the top young hitters in baseball while in high school, Harper was also forced to majorly rely on his parents. He really needed his mom's support as he chased his dream of playing in the major leagues and she gave it to him. That's just part of the reason why she's so important to him.

Lionel Messi — The famous soccer player is always quick to talk about how important his mom is to him. Whether he's appearing with her in public or just speaking about what an impact she had on his life, Messi lets everyone know just how much he loves his mom.

Victor Cruz — When he's not catching touchdown passes or dancing the salsa, Victor Cruz is busy spending time with his mom. He loves to share his NFL journey with his mom, whom he credits with even making his dream possible in the first place.

Mario Balotelli — Balotelli is one of sports' most colorful characters, but when it comes to his mom, he's not in a joking mood. He effuses just how much she means to him and even claims some of his goofiness has to do with their close relationship.

Ndamukong Suh — While Suh is one of the dirtiest players in the NFL on the field, off the field, he is a pretty calm and quiet guy. He really likes spending time with his mom, who probably isn't very happy with his antics on the field.

Michael Oher — How could Michael Oher not be a mama's boy. As everyone who has seen or read 'The Blind Side' knows, Oher was adopted by the Tuohy's while in high school and they helped encourage him in his desire to play football. In one of the feel-good stories in sports, he ended up reaching the NFL after several years.

Kevin Durant — Kevin Durant is a mama's boy everyone knows about after his emotional MVP acceptance speech last year in which he credited his mom for helping him grow up the right way and called her "the real MVP". If there's anyone who appreciates all that their mom did for them, it's Durant.
