Many professional athletes are notoriously bad drivers, but none are worse than these 15 former and current players who should probably just hire a chauffeur.

Hines Ward — Toward the tail end of his career, Hines Ward decided to drink and drive and he paid the price. He was charged with a DUI, and while the charges were later dropped, it hurt his solid reputation within the league. By the next calendar year, he retired from the NFL.

Yovani Gallardo — Joining a growing number of MLB players with DUI charges, Yovani Gallardo was arrested for drinking and stepping behind the wheel. With the money he's going to be making on his new contract this offseason, he might as well hire someone to drive him around everywhere.

Nick Fairley — It seemed like the Lions were an undisciplined group of guys both on and off the field in the last couple of years. Nick Fairley's drinking and driving charge further proves that. The fact that he was willing to put other people's lives in danger, including his own, shows his lack of discipline.

Shin-Soo Choo — Shin-Soo Choo has run into problems on the road multiple times and has gotten charged with a DUI, something he deeply regrets. After he was charged, he apologized individually to each member of his Indians team. Even though it seems like he learned his lesson, he's better off not driving himself around.

Titus Young — Young's lack of decision-making skills went far beyond his DUI. He got into trouble off the field on numerous occasions, which eventually led to the Lions parting ways with the talented receiver. With his immaturity, there's no way he should be driving around putting other drivers in harm's way.

Michael Pineda — Pineda is a promising power pitcher for the Yankees, but he's already shown he shouldn't be driving around by himself with a DUI on his record.

Mike Tyson — While it appears he has settled down a little bit lately, Mike Tyson is still used to living a reckless lifestyle, which isn't something you want out of a person operating a vehicle. You just never know when he's going to do something stupid, as evidenced by his DUI charge.

Jason Kidd — Kidd had a publicized drinking problem, and his DUI was big news as well. He clearly had a big problem at one point, and while he sought out treatment for it, he should just protect himself and others by not driving around.

Miguel Cabrera — Miguel Cabrera escaped having to serve jail time for his DUI, but it did alert him to an alcohol problem that he had. He seems to have gotten past that phase of his life, but he really shouldn't be driving anywhere.

Charles Barkley — Sir Charles is yet another athlete with highly-publicized alcohol issues that he seemingly got resolved. However, he reached a low point after his playing career when he was charged with a DUI. It was a wake-up call that maybe he shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car for a while.

Marshawn Lynch — With all of his recent success, many people forget that Marshawn Lynch actually was arrested for DUI earlier in his career. He's just sort of a wild guy all around, so he probably shouldn't be driving anywhere anyway. Plus, he would probably be too busy eating Skittles to even focus on the road.

Justin Blackmon — Justin Blackmon was such a promising NFL talent, but he could never stay out of trouble off the field. A lot of that has to do with his alcohol dependence, which led to him getting a DUI early in his career. It now appears that he will never realize his talent because of his off-the-field issues, which is a real shame.

Lance Briggs — Lance Briggs crashed his Lamborghini into a pole on the side of the road, and simply left the $300,000 car there. One can imagine that he may have done something less than intelligent to get into that situation, but we will never know for sure. What we do know is that he was charged for leaving the scene without reporting it, and that he shouldn't be behind the wheel anytime in the near future.

Sheldon Richardson — Even though he was only charged with resisting arrest in relation to an off-field traffic incident this summer, it could have been much worse for Sheldon Richardson. He was driving over 100 mph with a small child in the backseat. It's one thing if you're putting your own life in danger, but once you put a child's life in danger as well, you deserve to have your driving privileges taken away.

Donte Stallworth — Donte Stallworth was driving drunk when he hit and killed a man who stumbled out into the road. Amazingly, Stallworth was only charged with DUI manslaughter and was sentenced to a month in prison. Whether the man stumbled out into the road or not, if you kill someone while driving drunk, you should never be navigating a car ever again.
