The Giants have been around so long, they've spanned two different cities and plenty of great players. Among them are Willie Mays and Willie McCovey, but they've had even more. All of these great players are just part of the reason they're looked at as such an historic franchise.

When thinking of NFL Hall of Famers, the Giants might not be the first team that comes to mind, but they've been around for quite some time. They have a history of good quarterback play and defensive line play, which has led to them having several Hall of Famers at those positions.

13. Pittsburgh Steelers - 20

Certainly, the Steelers are looked at as one of the iconic franchises in NFL history and that is largely because of their great individual players. Guys like Terry Bradshaw and "Mean" Joe Greene were absolute legends, and there were other greats as well. As time goes on, expect even more players to be added to this list.

12. New York Yankees - 21

It's actually somewhat surprising the Yankees don't have more Hall of Famers based on their great history, but they still have the most in MLB history. During the 1920s, 50s and 60s, the team was great, so it makes sense so many great players came from those teams. There will never again be a franchise that has so many great players in such a short period of time.

11. Washington Redskins - 21

Washington is another NFL franchise that tends to get overlooked historically, but they are an established franchise that has had countless Hall of Famers. People forget the early years of the NFL and then the 1990s when this team was great, but those teams shouldn't be forgotten. The players from those teams aren't because they're immortalized in Canton.

10. Green Bay Packers - 22

Green Bay has been a consistently great team throughout their history minus a couple of down years here and there, and that's thanks to great players at a number of positions. In particular, their quarterback play has been strong. Bart Starr and Brett Favre (who isn't even enshrined yet) led the way, and Aaron Rodgers is right behind them.

9. Los Angeles Lakers - 23

Los Angeles is the most glamorous team in the NBA despite being terrible the last couple years, and that's because of the legacy great players established while dominating the league in the purple and gold. Guys like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Magic Johnson are the headliners, but this team has nearly had too many great players to count.

8. Boston Celtics - 25

Perhaps the only NBA team with a richer history than the Lakers is the Celtics, who dominated the sport for an entire decade and have been good off and on ever since the 1950s. The thing about the Celtics is that they've consistently pumped out Hall of Famers from nearly every generation. Most impressive of all, though, is that the team had eight Hall of Famers on the same team in the 1962-63 season.

7. Chicago Bears - 27

Along with the Packers, the Bears are the most historic franchise in NFL history. They date all the way back to the 1920s and have been churning out great players ever since. This franchise loves their defensive players and has set a standard for excellence on that side of the ball. Everyone who ends up playing for the Bears models themselves after Dick Butkus, who dominated during his playing days.

6. Chicago Blackhawks - 42

The NHL has been the most liberal in enshrining players in the Hall of Fame, so the top six teams on this list are all from hockey and they're all Original Six teams. Incredibly, the Blackhawks have 42 Hall of Famers ranging from Tony Esposito to Bobby Hull. Needless to say, countless great players have put on the Indian Head uniform.

5. Boston Bruins - 48

As historic a franchise as the Blackhawks are, the Bruins take it one step further in terms of Hall of Famers. Led by Bobby Orr, one of the all-time greats, this franchise has had a fine history of excellence. Like some of the other great organizations on this list, they've churned out Hall of Famers steadily for the entirety of their franchise's history.

4. Detroit Red Wings - 48

Especially in the 1990s and early 2000s, the Red Wings were the dominant franchise in sports. Of course, that was thanks largely to their great players like Chris Chelios and Steve Yzerman. With multiple Stanley Cups on their resume, those players are forever immortalized.

3. New York Rangers - 50

Despite not winning a Stanley Cup from 1940-41 to 1992-93, the Rangers were able to get top talent in the league year in and year out. Fans across the country loved watching Mark Messier, especially in the team's magical 1993-94 Stanley Cup run. Over the years, they've had 49 other great players to watch as well.

2. Toronto Maple Leafs - 54

Even though the Maple Leafs have been futile lately, they have a great history of success. Some amazing players have called Toronto home in the past 90 or so years which has helped them to over 50 Hall of Famers. Now, fans would be happy to just get a successful playoff run.

1. Montreal Canadiens - 54

In many ways, the Canadiens are the most successful franchise in sports. They have the most championships in any of the four major sports and they are also tied for the most Hall of Famers. This traditionally great team hasn't claimed the Stanley Cup in quite some time, but with the impressive collection of talent they have this season, that might just change next June.
