Rafael Nadal Dominates Novak Djokovic as Time Travel 2017 Season Continues

Though it was on clay, Rafael Nadal really took it to Novak Djokovic in the Madrid Open semifinal as the two prepare for the French Open at Roland Garros.

In his first head-to-head win over Djokovic since 2014, Nadal made it a decisive victory by a 6-2, 6-4 score.

This win is yet another reason why 2017 feels more like 2007, with Nadal and Roger Federer seemingly finding the fountain of youth together.

After Federer topped his chief rival in the Australian Open final back in January to claim his 18th major title, perhaps Nadal is looking to keep pace and surpass Pete Sampras by winning his 15th on the red clay in a few weeks’ time.

What a great year it’s been for tennis.
