Juan Martin del Potro Thoughtfully Consoled Nicolas Almagro After Injury at French Open

Sometimes the most difficult thing to do in the heat of a fierce competition is act human and have compassion for your opponent.

Fortunately, Juan Martin del Potro doesn’t have that issue, and with opponent, Nicolas Almagro, ailing during their French Open match, he showed his thoughtfulness by consoling the distraught man on the other side of the net.

The genuine concern from del Potro was only further illustrated after he advanced due Almagro retiring from the match.

This translates to: “I wish you a speedy recovery. I can imagine how you feel. Be strong!”

Having known Almagro since their days on the junior circuit, del Potro turned this sad moment into an incredibly humanizing one by showing compassion for his fellow man.

What a great guy.
